"Ivy, how come we have to sit here and hide out? My Epiphyllum oxypetalum in the greenhouse was supposed to bloom today, I was looking forward to seeing them tonight.. they will wilt when dawn hits." The boy pouted, resting his head on the palm of his hand in waiting. " And when they wilt I need to trim the flowers and collect the stems so the plant stays healthy"
The Redheaded women came into view, gingerly wrapping her arms around the other. " You just want the stems for the little potions you make." She spoke in a smooth velvety tone" Your apothecary has gotten quite the collection, Sprout."
The boy smiled softly " It helps when I have someone with a green thumb." He joked. " We both know I am more about the knowledge then the growing."
" I'm not so sure." Poison Ivy leaned in " My other babies seem to love your eyes, I know I do."
"You just like any young man you can get ensnared in your vines." Another small laugh escaped his lips, his eyes focusing on cracks in the concrete. " I do need some more Taraxacum however.. it's almost strep throat season" he gently stood up, lightly walking over to the yellow flowered weed and crouching down to pull a few leaves. "Thanks little guy."
Ivy's face soured slightly "The ones you took from the garden were not enough?" Ivy was not fond of weeds, especially when they try to take over her "babies'" beds.
"You were not complaining when you drank the tea I made out of them—" he held a finger to his lips, and Ivy froze in compliance. The dark haired boy pulled Ivy into the shadows, keeping out of sight. A few moments passed and a shadow crossed the doorway, stretching across the floor. The young man stayed quiet, silently moving their positions so they remained unseen. Another minute passed and the shadow moved away from the moonlight out out of the room. "Looks like the Batman is gone for now..but we better get moving just in case.."
" Deadly sharp senses for MY Deadly Nightshade." Ivy cooed, hugging the boy close.
"Someone has to keep you safe, as your only HUMAN baby I feel obligated when your sun-loving babies cannot." Nightshade grinned.
"You know very well that you are a son to me, too pure to be corrupted by humans, you might as well be a plant." Ivy countered. " You ask permission to take, and even so take only enough where the plant can be healthy."
" Well I leaned my kindness from the best." Nightshade glanced to Ivy, his blue eyes almost looking violet in the moonlight, just like the petals of Deadly Nightshade. "... it looks like the bat stopped looking for us, we are safe for the night."
