Once there was a tree. And he loved a little boy.The long car drive in the cramped moving van had left the young boy with an aching sense of boredom. He was ready to run off and explore the new land that surrounded him. His mother seemed to have forgotten he was there while trying to help unload the large moving van. Although his father did not forget so easily. He led the small brunette through new house and up the stairs to his box cluttered room.
"Please be good while I go help your mum unpack alright Daniel?"
"Yes sir." He answered.Of course this didn't dull his curiosity by any standards. He still planned to explore. He grabbed a book by the name of The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. He walked down the narrow stair case quickly and made his way to the back door. His parents stood in the kitchen unpacking cooking utensils and silver wear. As he walked by them towards the back door he got permission.
"May I go play outside?"
He could tell his parents weren't paying attention. "Sure." His mum answered absentmindedly.
He closed the rest of the space between him and the door quickly exiting before his parents changed their minds.Once outside he noticed that there was a small open field with a large forest behind it. He ignored the field going straight to the forest. It was almost magical like something out of one of his books. He followed a narrow dirt path passing by tree after tree. The only thing on his mind was finding the perfect place to read. The path way was crowded with flowers and greenery. It seemed that nobody had walked here for years allowing more plant growth along the path. The trees had grown together over head creating a large canopy. It was all absolutely beautiful. The possibilities of finding the perfect place to read was endless and almost impossible, but he wasn't giving up his search just yet. The further he got into the forest the more he wondered how he found such a beautiful place.
His eyes widened as he came upon the most beautiful tree he had ever seen. The tree was quite small with bark whiter than freshly fallen snow that glittered as the sun light danced across it. The bark contrasted well with the pitch black soil surrounding only this tree. Unlike all the others the leaves had stayed on the branches throughout the harsh and cold winds. They shined a brilliant blueish gold color.
Young Daniel plopped down next to the unique tree and opened his book. He then began reading in the shade of the magical tree.
