Chapter 2 - Center Stage

As the next day rises Chelly spends the day writing in her journal to help inspire the song she wants to be remembered for, she feels a first impression is what everyone looks back on and she would rather be a one hit wonder that inspires than be an eventual afterthought. She spends most of her morning in her room as she writes but before she knows it, its time for her to go to the club. As Chelly entered the club her boss surprised her with a unexpected twist to her shift tonight telling her she will be center stage for the night as many of the regulars requested to have her the star of the stage. Chelly expressed her disappointment not wanting to strip and dance on the pole. Her boss told her its an order and she will do it unless she wants to be fired, he also made her an offer of 2x her pay for the night if she gives the crowd what they want. Chelly only agreed because she needs every penny for her production of her music. She goes on stage as she looks out to the crowd men whistling and howling waiting for her to begin, she twirls around the pole as the music plays. You can tell she is extremely shy but she made it through the night with thousands of dollars thrown on the stage, Chelly felt mixed emotions feeling she degraded herself but on the other hand she felt accepted and proud knowing she was making 3x the money that she would normally make in a week. Her boss told her she could keep the cash off the stage and said that was her extra pay for her performance, Chelly argued that she deserved more for the extra entertaining she brought and that the club would be nothing without her existence. Her boss slapped her across her face telling her if she feels too good for the club she could go back to the curb where he found her, you can see the tears in her eyes as she walks out of the club. She gets home and Alicia is there, Alicia could clearly tell Chelly was upset and asked her what was going on Chelly expressed her feelings and whether or not to quit working at the club, Alicia felt saddened that she wouldn't have her best friend there with her at work since they both looked out for each other but Alicia told Chelly that she supports her with whatever she decides. Once Chelly took a shower and calmed down she told Alicia she was going to continue working at the club but vowed its not a permanent job she's planning on retiring from, she also tells Alicia she should pursue her dreams of being a model because of all her full potential. Both girls hug it out and ended the night on a good note. The next day began and Chelly drove to the club to tell her boss (Mark) that she is deciding to stay because she needs the money and apologized for her outbursts last night. Mark began to smirk with a laugh and accepted her apology and told Chelly if it was any other girl that disrespected him like she did that they would've been fired but he enjoys seeing her around and accepted her apology. Chelly hugged Mark but requested to take the stage a few nights a week because she needed extra cash, Mark agreed but offered he keeps half of her tips that are thrown on the stage, Chelly agrees. Chelly now becomes the girl everyone pays whatever to see, she is now the top dog of the club, You can see Alicia has a bit of jealousy in her eyes but happy for her best friend making a name for herself.
