You Are The One

Chapter 5. uhh.. yeah?

I wake up a little late and slowly get moving. I look at the time and realize I really need to move. I grab an outfit, my phone, and head for the shower. Unfortunately it's already occupied.

I leave my clothes next to the door and head downstairs. My dad is drinking coffee, while my brother Jason is making breakfast.

"Hey Morning.. You hungry?" Jason asks.

"Alittle."

"I made french toast, you want juice?" Jason asks looking over at me as I sit down.

"Yea, that would be great. Thanks Jay. Morning Dad."

"Morning sweetie. Shawn should be out of the shower soon."

"Okay.." I say as Jay sets food in front of me. He starts cleaning up.

"You finish cleaning the kitchen up when you get home?" Jason asks looking at me.

"Yea. Should I put dinner together?" I ask as I eat.

"No need. Matt is bringing home dinner tonight." Dad answers.

"Oh, I didn't know he was coming home." Jason says as he grabs a chair.

"Yeah, he wants a family dinner tonight." Dad answers. Dad finally sets the iPad down.

" I wonder what Matt's up to." Jason says looking at the time. "You going to hurry up Fia? I gotta get to school early today."

"I"

"Morning.. Can I hitch?" Shawn asks as he sits down and grabs his plate. Shawn's the youngest. Matt's the oldest at 22 and in college. Then comes Jason at 18. He's in college but he didn't get a scholarship, he goes to community college. I'm 17 and on my senior year and then Shawn at 15. My Mom isn't with us. She left five years ago to take care of her parents and never came back. She calls but it's weird and we kinda just let her go to voicemail.

I put my dishes away as my phone starts ringing on the table. I go to grab it but Jason is already looking at it. My Dad gets up and waves to us. I grab my phone.

"Who's Mad?" Jason asks as Shawn's now looking at me. I answer the phone.

*"Hey?" I say as I answer.

"Hey Fia, I will be there in fifteen minutes." Mad says.

"I haven't gotten ready yet."

"Hurry up then. I already left home."

"I can meet you at school."

"Fia, I will be knocking on your door in less than fifteen minutes."

"Fine.. Bye."*

I hang up and hurry into the shower. I move as fast as I can. I shower faster than I ever have before. I hurry up and get ready. I throw my hair in a messy bun and put on a little make-up. I grab my coat and bag. I look in the mirror one last time and head downstairs.

I get down stairs and see my brothers sitting across from Mad in the living room. I walk in slowly and Jason looks over glaring at me. Shawn seems excited and is grinning.

"Fia"

"Jay, I don't think I need a ride?"

"FiA.. We never discussed this." Jay said in a dad voice that made me uncertain.

"Uhhh... Yeah about that.."

"I didn't know that you knew who Mad was.. Your going to get your ass kicked." Shawn says now laughing.

"Why would Fia get her ass kicked?" Jason says now looking at Shawn.

"He dates Becky. I told you to put her in kick boxing."

"If anything happens to my sister, I will castrate you." Jason says now glaring at Mad.

"No one will touch her. We should get going. Sky is in the car waiting for us."  Mad says looking over at me.

"Shawn, your going with them." Jason says grabbing his bag and heads for the door. Mad looks at me again and I'm now biting my lip.

"Guess, we're ready? And this is all on you." I say looking at Mad. He pushes his hair back and we all leave with Shawn following.

"Tonight's going to be even better, wait until Matt finds out!!" Shawn says laughing.
