"You've got something I need. In this world full of people, there's one killing me," I sing horrendously at the top of my lungs. "And if we only die once," Zoey joins in, who is sat in the passenger side, next to me. At the end of her line she points the water bottle, which has been substituted as our microphone for the time being, towards me. "I wanna die with you!" I sing my last line and we both dance around in our seats. Our hair is flying everywhere, and I use my hands like drums on the steering wheel. The radio is up almost at full volume and the sun is almost set.

We had decided to go on a trip to the other side of town, as this boutique we'd heard about was having a huge sale. With the back seats loaded with shopping bags, a good sing along to the radio seemed the perfect end to a perfect day. As we continued dancing around in our seats, throwing our hands in the air, we felt so carefree, like no worry in the world could touch us.

"And I know that we're not the same," I sing the next line of the song. When I don't hear Zoey's voice immediately follow along, I became confused. "Zoey, did you miss it?" I ask. "Zoey, hello, anybody hom-" I start to speak but as I look beside me and find the look of horror written all over Zoey's face, I finally understand.

There's no time to think, and all I see is bright headlights beaming in through the passenger window. WIth a split second I swerve the car, press my foot on the accelerator, anything to try and avoid what I know is going to follow, and which deep down, I know is inevitable. What happens next happens all too fast, and yet at the same time I feel as if i'm stuck in slow motion. The screams from both Zoey and I overpower any singing, and any noise left coming from the radio. The shattering glass from the windows spray the two of us in a shower. The face of this beast of a truck collides with the side of our small car, and although my head starts to spin, nothing compares to the multiple times I feel our vehicle rolling and spinning. Our heads start thumping against any surface that we seem to find, and the smell and colour of blood seems prominent. "Zoey!" I scream through all of this, but there's no point. Nothing is comprehendible as I feel the air bags of the car squashing my body, and the dangerous halt the car comes to, only brings me darkness. Complete, utter, darkness.
