From 6.17 "A Bird in a Gilded Cage", in the 1903 prison, Damon and Lily came face to face.

Elena: (voice over from 6.17 A Bird in a Gilded Cage) "Your mother is alive."

From 6.17 "A Bird in a Gilded Cage", in Kaylin's room, Lily had been reunited with Stefan and Damon.

Kaylin and Lily embraced.

From 7.08 "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", in the Lockwood Mansion, Damon and Kacie were talking.

"My mother faked her death, left her children behind, started a new family, and went out of her way to forget us forever," Damon told her. "And when she gets back, she exiles Kaylin from our home because she is so insecure about her own relationship with Julian."

"She's making up for that by turning against him for what he did to Kaylin in 1863," Kacie told him.

"Nothing is gonna make up for that, Kacie," Damon told her. "As far as I'm concerned, she deserves what she gets."

From 7.08 "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", in the anniversary party location, Damon and Valerie were chained up and being vervained.

Damon looked at Lily. "You chose your Heretics over us every chance you had."

Julian appeared behind Nicola, wrapping an arm around her neck from behind in a chokehold to keep her from helping Damon and Valerie, holding a stake over her heart. He looked at Lily. "You're either a Salvatore, or you're one of us, but you cannot be both."

Lily took the stake away from Nicola's chest, walking past her toward Julian. "You are wrong, Julian. I can choose both."

Lily raised the stake in the air, driving it into her own heart, hoping to kill Julian along with her, causing Nicola to gasp in shock and Valerie to cry out desperately.

Later, Lily had been moved to the chaise lounge in the parlor. She looked at Nicola. "Despite everything you have been through with my children, you always seem to pull through. Please, take care of them the way that I've never been there to." She started to cry in devastation and guilt, hating herself for what happened to her daughter. "And please tell Kaylin... that I am so sorry. Tell her that I tried to make it right."

Stefan gave Damon a stern look. "Say something."

Damon looked at Lily for a long moment, looking as if he was finally going to forgive her, whispering quietly to her. "You made your bed. Have a nice nap."

Damon stood, walking out, leaving.

From 7.09 "Cold As Ice", in the Sunbury Bar, Stefan, Damon, Nicola, Cristian, Luke and Ryan were talking.

"Damon, I used to feel the same way about you that you felt about Lily," Nicola told him. "I had time to move on and build a family with both of you, and with Kaylin."

"All she wanted was forgiveness, and you practically spat in her face," Stefan told him.

"She didn't deserve my forgiveness," Damon told them.

From 7.02 "Never Let Me Go", in Alaric's office, Nicola looked at the Phoenix Stone in her hands. She was overcome by visions, so startled she gasped.

Bonnie: (voice over from 7.07 Mommie Dearest) "The Phoenix Stone gives the sword it's power against immortal foes."

From 7.07 "Mommie Dearest", in the cemetery, Stefan, Damon, Nicola, Lily and Julian were talking.
