Chloe's POV
I stopped walking and covered my face with my hands.
Why. Why. Why did I overreact. Why must I embarrass myself in front a boy, not just any boy, but Ashton Perry.
Ashton Perry was the golden/bad boy of Woodpark High school. He played football and had a fling with the one and only Lucy Ward.
I continued to walk down the street on my way from from Ashton's house.
"Hey Chloe," Braden popped out of nowhere.
"Ahhh! You scared me Braden. You could have been a serial killer for all I know." I ranted.
"But I wasn't," he gave me a small smile. "Do you need a ride?"
"Uh, yeah that would be great thank you," I smiled, thank you I don't have to walk down the street at night.
***
The car ride home consisted of me telling him my address and listening to the radio."We're here," Braden's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Thank you," I gulped. Debating if I should offer him to come inside. Trying to be polite I ask him. "You want to come inside."
His brown eyes flashed some type of emotion before I could catch it. Maybe I shouldn't have asked. "I'm sor-," I begun.
"D-do you remember me?" He nervously asked.
"I-"
"Freshmen year, English." He turned to the window. I stared at his profile trying to see what he meant. "Ms. Judith made us partner up for an assignment about Romeo and Juliet."
I thought back to that day. Taylor was absent the assignment was given. I didn't know a lot of people in that class. I looked around to see if anyone wasn't taken yet. My eyes landed in the back of the room to a boy with dark hair with glasses reading Romeo and Juliet.
*Flashback*
I stood up and walked to were he was sitting. I could feel my face getting hot.
Calm down, he's a good kid."Hi," I smiled. He looked up from his book and his eyes widened.
"Hey." He shyly said.
"Want to be partners?"
"S-Sure."
I sat down and introduced myself. "Chloe." I stuck out my hand for him to shake.
"Braden." He shook my hand.
*End of flashback*
After that assignment we worked a lot together. I enjoyed his company, I just you could say we were friends. Sadly, a few months after he moved.
"No, no way. You're that Braden?" I looked at his dark brown hair from shaggy hair to a modern boyish hairstyle. No glasses maybe he got contacts. Sharp jawline that can cut diamonds. He had gotten a lot taller too. He definitely changed over the years, no wonder I couldn't recognize him. I'm such a bad friend.
"Take a picture it'll last longer." He chuckled at my red face when he turned around. "Yes, I'm that Braden. Oh and to answer your other question, how about we go to Rockies tomorrow after school instead." He smirked and walked away to his car. While I just stood there trying to fight a smile off my lips.
