“Amber what the hell?” I yelled, running out from behind the car, placing myself between the two of them. Her fist was raised and after looking straight at me she dropped to the ground in a mess of tears and slurred sentences. “Amber calm down.” I said kneeling down next to her. In the corner of my eye I could see Ashton tip toeing away and I motioned for him to stop and come here. He sighed loudly and kneeled down beside me. She wiped her eyes, smearing eyeliner everywhere, the dark mess dripping down her face with each tear.

“S-So when I talked to Michael about leaving you alone he said I had to prove myself or something, I really don’t know..” Amber started, looking up at me with wide eyes. “Like as if he wouldn’t consider unless I showed this really meant a lot to me... So he said I had to take over t-tormenting Ashton.” She hiccuped, more tears spilling over. She shook her head violently, she was more angry at herself then I was at her. “I don’t like hurting people... I didn’t want to do this. But I wanted Michael to leave you alone before it got too bad oh Rosella i’m s-sorry.” I engulfed her into a hug, trying to soothe her troubled mind. Mine was running a mile a minute but I pushed it away because right now my friend needed me.

“We could just stage it; or say we fought.” Ashton spoke up, placing his hand on her shoulder. She shook her head, tugging on her hair.

"He knows, he knows. He's had people watching me. They know i've failed." As if right on cue a few boys had gotten out of a car, the group seemed familiar enough from the first encounter i've had with them.

"Amber." One said completely out tone for the situation, he had said it almost apologetically.

"I know, i'm sorry, i'm so sorry please don't tell." She blubbered to the group of boys, they all exchanged glances before looking back towards her.

"We'll cover for you. He's been a real asshole lately and you’re just trying to help out a friend, we give you major props seeing you were going to go through with it for someone you just met."  Amber nodded appreciatively and pulled herself together. We were all about ten minutes late now, parting ways as we all scrambled to get to our lockers. Today I found my locker easier than yesterday, its wasn't so much of a struggle. I gathered up my books and quickly shoved them into my bag before hurrying to english. Amber had decided to just cut English and have time to herself opposed to sitting in a class for 30 minutes. I knocked on the door awkwardly, many situations like this gave me anxiety because I knew the second that door opened everyones eyes would be on me. I could hear the footsteps of someone coming to the door and quickly composed myself, looking down the hall as if I was distracted. The door had opened and I came face to face Michael. He didn't make a sly comment, he didn't say a word. He moved to the side, his eyes still fixed on me and I walked in quietly. As I passed him he had whispered,

"You're in luck today we have a sub." I nodded and quickly went to my seat and sat down, Michael following behind me making his way to his own seat. The sub had barely even moved a muscle so many had began to freely talk amongst themselves. I pulled out my phone to make it seem as if I wasn't completely alone and scrolled through twitter. Someone had grabbed the seat beside me, kicking their feet up onto the desk. I didn’t even bother looking up because I knew who it was.

“Go away.” I shot at Michael, locking my phone and placing it onto my notebook.
