~ Levi's POV ~

20 minutes. It's been 20 minutes since I left Kasey's. I've tried texting her a bunch of times to try and apologize but she hasn't even opened any of them. She may have been my fake friend, but she was still a good one and she didn't deserve to be yelled at like the way I did to her. It's 9PM, my shirt was completely soaked in tears so I get up from my bed and go to the bathroom to take a shower. The door to the bathroom was open and the light had been turned on.

"Hello?"

I called throughout the house. It seemed like a stupid cheesy scary movie choice, but whatever, It would never happen to me. I didn't get an answer. My voice seemed to echo in this big empty house. Shrugging my shoulders, I enter the bathroom and close the door behind me.

The lights turned off instantly. I froze. My breathing became heavier and heavier with each passing second.
I put my fingers on the light switch to turn it back on... but... it was on. Only it wasn't at the same time. Someone was messing with our electricity. I gulp. I heard The shower curtain start to slide the opposite direction. Because I couldn't see, it was hard to know if it was my dad playing a prank on me, or if something serious was really happening.

A cloth suddenly came over my mouth and I couldn't help but breath it in. I started to feel dizzy and wiggled a little bit but the hand that had ahold of my shoulder was the only thing keeping me in place.

"Whoa..."

I whispered more to myself than anything. I lost my balance and saw instant darkness.

***

"Where is she?"

My mind was groggy and I didn't know where I was. The lights were dim. I sit up and I see the familiar furniture and the colors of the walls. I was at Kasey's. And Kasey's dad was in front of me with tears in his eyes and a look of anger and depression on his face.

"Levi where is she!"

"Where's.... whoa,"

I hold a hand to my head from the quick movement I made. After I felt good enough to talk, I did.

"Where's who?"

"My daughter you dim wit!"

Where's Kasey? Why would I know?

"Uh... Mr. Merellie, with all do respect, why in bloody hell am I here?"

"Because Kasey is missing!"

Missing? No.. that couldn't be. I just saw her not that long ago. Kasey's dad, Damon, was pacing back and forth and finally took a seat in front of me on another couch.

"Damon, I don't know where she is."

"I heard you guys yelling at each other not to long ago. You left. But did you come back? Did you kill her? Did you give her away to the people that threatened Rose?!"

Kill her? What in the bloody hell is going on here. And whose Rose?

"Whose Rose?"

I said as calmly as possible.

"Kasey's mom."

He sighed and put his head in his hands and took big slow breaths.

"What do you mean by the people that threatened Rose?"

He didn't answer me right away, but when he did, he surprised me and I was left speechless.

"When Kasey was two months old, her mother dropped her off here with a note on the baby carrier. It basically said that I need to keep Kasey safe because people were after rose and they would hurt Kasey if she didn't give them what they wanted. All these years I've kept her safe and now she's gone.. she's gone."
