As Oikawa creped down the stairs he felt his heart beating so fast that he could have sworn that it was ready to burst out of his chest. Every step he took caused the old floor boards to emit a loud creek.
When he finally managed to muster up the courage to enter the living room, where the noise was coming from, he was met with large yellow eyes. A dark silhouette cascaded along the couch. As he got closer, Oikawa thought it would be best to pick up some form of weapon to defend himself with, which happened to be a remote. The closer he go to the figure, the smaller it looked till it resembled... a cat? All that noise was from a cat. The young teen picked up the fat cat glaring at it in disgust. "Why couldn't you have been an alien who was hear to take me into their spaceship. When did we even get a cat?", he muttered to the confused cat.
Once he was satisfied that there were no murderers here to ruin his beautiful face, he headed back to his room.
As he went to fall asleep he realised how awake he was and soon gave up on even the thought of sleep and went over to his desk to re-watch his last volleyball match on his laptop and figure out the area's he needs to improve on.
He soon got too tired to focus on the screen and decided to just lie in his bed until he fell asleep. At around 1am he had gotten to the point of the night where you start questioning your entire existence.
His emotions were quick to drown him in a state of depression. It's not that he is only depressed at night or that during the day time he is truly happy, it's just harder to hide your feelings when your alone. It doesn't matter if you have a nice house or good friends. Depression doesn't have any standards and will victimise anyone it wants.
At first it was simple thoughts like, "Why didn't we win that last set" and "Am I a bad captain" but it soon escalated to, "What's the point in living" and "Well shit, I really do fuck up everything".
It was nights like these when he would finally let out all the things that he had been holding in. People can only take so much. It was exhausting having to keep up the façade which was his life. Slowly the tears began to trickle down his snow like face staining his damp pillow.
Oikawa's breathing began to grow faster and faster until he felt light headed. His vision began to blur from the tears and his hands trembled with fear. Fear of what he had become. It seemed like all the happy moments in his life were growing fewer and fewer till one day they may cease to exist.
Before he could stop himself he felt himself grabbing the phone by his bed and sending one short message to the only one he could trust. The person who was always there for him. The one who accepted him. The one who grabbed his hand and promised to never let go. Before he felt himself going into complete panic mode he hastily tapped the send button sending but one word.
