(Scott's POV)

I woke up and realized that I wasn't in my room. I shot up and looked around, then I remembered what happened last night. Probably the best night of my life! I finally kissed my dream girl. Kirstin Maldonado. Hey wait a minute. Speaking of Kirstie, where is she? I looked around. She wasn't in the room and the bathroom door was open, so she couldn't be in there. I stood up and started to walk downstairs. I saw Kirstie in the kitchen making pancakes. I snuck up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She jumped and then I said, "Good morning, Princess." And kissed her cheek. She smiled. "Good morning, Scooter." I giggled. "Whatcha making?" I asked while looking over her shoulder. "Food." She said, making me laugh. "I know that smart aleck, but what kind of food?" "Chocolate Chip Pancakes and bacon!" "Yay!" "OH MY GOD! THERE'S NO WAYYY!" A high-pitched voice yelled. We looked over to see Mitch with a huge grin on his face. "IS SCIRSTIE REAL!?!" He asked, with the grin still on his face. "Mayyybeee..." I said. I saw Kirstie do her side smile. "AHHHH! FINALLY!" He squealed and jumped up and down. I laughed and let go of Kirstie. After about five minutes, Kirstie was done with breakfast. "Yay! Pancakes!" Mitch said excitedly and sat down at the table. Kirstie giggled and sat the food down on the table. All three of us finished eating in about 10 minutes. "Hey, I'm gonna go get ready because me and Travis are going out today." Mitch said and walked to his room. BTW, Travis is Mitch's boyfriend. They've been dating for about six months now. "So, I guess it's just you and me now, Scotland." Kirstie said to me as she grabbed the dishes and walked to the kitchen. I giggled and followed her. "I can do the dishes, Kirst." I said as I approached her. "No it's fine, I got it. I cooked it so I should clean it up." I sighed. "Let meeeeee. Please!" I whined. She shook her head and laughed. "Noooo, I got it. But I can tell you what you could do." She said. "What?" I asked while leaning on counter beside her. "Go take a shower because you stank!" She said while holding her nose. I laughed. "Oh really?" She nodded. "Okay, well let me at least have a kiss before I wash my 'stank' off." I said and attempted to hug her. She backed up and held her arms out. "Woah woah woah, Hoying, how about we talk about this?" She said. I laughed and grabbed her wrists. Surprisingly, she flinched in pain. I instantly let go. She looked down and returned to the sink to wash the dishes. I stood there and looked at her, in shock. "Give me your arms." I said seriously. She shook her head. "Why? Kirstie, just give me your damn arms!" I said, frustrated. She sighed defeated. I grabbed her shoulders and turned her so she could face me. She had her head down. "Hey..." I said softly and grabbed her chin so she would look at me. We stared into each other's eyes. "I'm sorry for yelling, I just want to help you." I said and moved my hands down to her hands. I kissed her lips softly then pulled away. I looked down at her hands and pulled up the sleeve. I gasped and covered my mouth with one of my hands, but kept the other on hers. She had a lot of cuts on her wrist. A lot. "Kirstie? Why... Why would you do this?" I tried to ask her calmly. She shook her head and just completely broke down. "I-I-I-I d-don't know w-w-why I did i-it! I'm s-s-so sor-ry!" She said while sobbing into my chest. "Hey, it's okay. I can help you." I said as I picked her up bridal style and carried her into the living room to the couch. I sat down with her in my lap bawling and tried to calm her down. "Hey guys I'm gonna hea- Oh my God! What happened!?" Mitch said in panic mode and rushed over to us. "Umm..." I said and pointed to her wrist. He gasped and teared up. "Oh my God, okay, let me cancel my plans with Travis." Mitch said and pulled out his phone. "No, Mitch. I got this." I said as I continued to rock Kirstie, who was crying harder because Mitch found out, back and fourth in my lap. "But, she's my best friend. I can, no, I need to help." Mitch argued. "Okay, I gue-" I was cut of by Kirstie crying harder. "NO! I d-don't w-want to r-r-ruin your p-p-plans with y-y-your boyf-friend!" Kirstie cried. I sighed. "Mitch, you can help after your plans are done with Travis." I said. He sighed and stood up. "Okay. Fine. I'll be back in a bit." He said and let out a shaky breath. "Okay. Bye." I said as he got his stuff together and headed to the door. "Bye." He said weakly and left. "Shhh. Kirst, you're okay. It's gonna be okay." I said, trying to comfort her. "No it's not! You're going to send me away because I'm mentally unstable! And and-" "What? I would never send you away!" I said while kissing her head. She took a couple of shaky deep breaths and finally stopped crying. "Okay. Just tell me why you cut, okay?" She nodded. "Uhh, I honestly don't kn-know why. I guess I was st-still upset about Jeremy. I know I shouldn't b-be because I have you! M-M-Maybe that's why I cut..." She trailed off. She started to tear up again. "Hey hey hey, it's okay. Please! Don't start crying again!" I begged her. I bet you a million dollars that when she cries, it hurts me more than her. Even when we weren't dating. She nodded. "Are you gonna tell Avi, Kevin, Esther, or anyone?" She shrugged. "Can you talk?" She shook her head. "Okay. Do you want me to stop talking?" She slowly nodded. I chucked. "Okay." I turned on the TV with the remote and Kirstie and I watched TV. After a while I looked down and saw that Kirstie had fallen asleep on my chest. I sighed and carried her up to the guest room, or now, her room. I walked back downstairs and sat down on the couch, trying to figure out what to do about Kirstie's "issue". I heard the door open, then I saw Mitch come in through the front door. "Hey." I said. He waved and then asked, "How's Kirst?" "She's stable, for right now at least." "Where is she?" "Asleep." He nodded and sat beside me on the couch. "So, what are we gonna do? How long has it been going on?" He questioned. "I don't what we're going to do and I don't know how long it's been going on." I said and he shook his head. "She just, she doesn't seem like that kind of person." Mitch said. "I know." We were silent for a minute. Then I started to tear up. "Mitch, I'm scared that she's gonna take it one step farther and end her life." I said and let a tear roll down my cheek. "Scott, don't think like that. We can help her." Mitch said and gave me a hug. I nodded. I can't help but still be scared, though. I hope we can help her get through this...

(Kirstie's POV)

I woke up and realized that I wasn't in Scott's lap, I was in my room. I sighed and got up to go downstairs, but something caught my eye. I looked in the full length mirror in my room and realized how ugly I was. I stood there for a minute and pointed out all my flaws. I rushed to the bathroom that was in my room and found the blade in the cabinets under the sink. I sat down on the floor and slid the blade across my wrist.
One for being ugly
Two for being fat
Three for being short
Four for being untalented
Five for being worthless
This went on and on, and I did more cuts than I should have. I was on my tenth cut and I did this one deeper than I should have. I hit a vein and let a blood curdling scream escape my body. I let my head hit the ground and my vision was becoming blurry. I felt a puddle of liquid around my arm and realized that it was blood. "KIRSTIN!" I heard Scott's voice, but it was faint. "Scott, help." I saw the bathroom door burst open and that's when I blacked out.

(Scott's POV)

"Mitch, I don't kn-" "AHHHH!" I was cut off by Kirstie screaming and I instantly shot up and ran as fast as I could up the stairs. I got to her room and she wasn't there. The bathroom door was shut so I thought she would probably be in there. I ran over the the bathroom and tried to open the door. It was locked. I started banging on the door. "KIRSTIE! OPEN THE DOOR!" No answer. "KIRSTIN!" "Scott, help." I heard Kirstie's voice, but it was very weak. Mitch was just sitting on the bed behind me, shaking, crying, and his hands covering his face. I started to try to break down the door. I was successful. There she was. Laying on the floor in a puddle of blood. Unconscious. "Oh my God... MITCH CALL 911! HURRY!" I screamed. I picked up Kirstie and took her downstairs. Mitch was in the kitchen on the phone with 911. He gasped and could barely talk when he saw Kirst. I laid her down on the couch and kneeled beside her. I cupped her face in my hands. "It's gonna be okay, Kirst. H-H-Help is in the w-way." I said, letting tears roll down my cheek. After about five minutes, paramedics burst through the door and put Kirstie on a stretcher. Before they left, I asked one of the paramedics if I could ride in the ambulance, they said I could. I hopped in and we were off. I grabbed her fragile, little hand. "It's gonna be okay. I promise." To be honest, I wasn't sure if it was going to be okay or not. I was praying that it was though...
