Chapter 5

After thinking about what just happened , I walked to the room where the group counseling was suppose to be happen in , before even entering the room I could hear Emma and Jesus' voices. Great! Without even looking at anyone I looked around for a seat to sit in but someone touched my shoulder from behind I turned around to see a face that I needed to see. Mariana.

"Mariana! Are you okay? I heard about what happened with Nick." I spoke as I hugged her tightly 

"I'm good Sage thank you." She replied hugging me back.

"I'm happy to hear that" 

"Sage I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. Since you've come back to the school I've been so busy I haven't seen you properly."

"Mariana honestly its fine we've both been busy. We'll make time to see each"

"Definitely! And soon because you're my best friend and we need to catch up."

"Sounds really good!"

"By the way I've noticed that Jesus has been talking/asking about you recently"

"Really why?"

"Got no clue but he brings you up a lot but its good things so don't worry"

"Isn't he with Emma" I asked looking them.

"Don't think so but shes so using him. I tried talking to him but he doesn't listen so I gave up."

"Same but I'm just gonna leave him"

The guidance councilor was finally here and told us to take a seat around this circle table. I was directly opposite Jesus and Emma. I was so happy! Then Mariana was around 5 seats right from me. The guidance councilor was just talking about the Gun event that happened , it was boring me since I was so over it so I put my head on the table and zoned out. Until I heard one of Emma's friends said.

 " Mariana I heard that Nick came to your house with a gun. Apparently he tried to kill himself" She spoke confidently. My head was still on the table but I was listening. 

"Yeah he did try to but I stopped him" She replied boldly.

Out of nowhere another girl said " Are you serious Mariana! Stop acting like a hero"

Then the first girl said " Yeah your the reason that he tried to kill himself. You cheated on hi-"

Before I knew it my mouth was opened and my my head was off the table so that I was sitting upright then I said " I'm just going to stop you right there before any more shit comes out of your mouth. What happened to Mariana has nothing to do with you so how dare you bring it up and judge her for it when you know nothing about what even. You and all your friends are disgusting. Because if what happened happened to you , I bet you wouldn't even be brave enough to sit here right now. So please shut the fuck up."

And with that I just realized what came out my mouth , I didn't really care to be honest but everyone in the class was completely speechless and there was a long silence so I just put my head back on the table. The guidance councilor broke the silence by saying " Sage I think you need time outside please."

So I simply got up obviously without my bag because I knew I was coming back and walked out the room. It was a natural instinct to stick up for Mariana , I didn't regret anything I said. I was outside for around 10 minutes until the guidance councilor called me back in and everyone was getting ready to leave. She just told me next time don't say something that rude and don't cuss so I just apologized and walked out , I was one of the last ones to go. As I walk out of the room I see Emma and Jesus by the stairs kissing so as I walked pass I "accidentally" nudged Jesus making them stop kissing and him nearly trip , as I walked away I heard Emma say "Stop looking at her."
