"Girls...or shall I say Hera and Demeter?" he laughs. I push Ag-lea's petite figure behind me and ask Vixen what he wanted, he replied. "I want you Chance. I want my champion fighter back". I smile "I'll make a deal with you Vixen, I will fight you. Right here. Right now, if I win I get to leave with Ag-lea and you can't come after us. If you win then I'll come back and fight for your institution. Deal?" I ask. He laughs loudly but finally answers "You've got yourself a deal, I can't wait to have you back". "Chance no!" Ag-lea screams. I look at her " I have to try..." I tell her with hope. I turn to Vixen who immediately begins to fight catching me off guard when his fist hits my face with power sending my body to the ground. "Chance" Ag-lea cries out. "I'm okay" I insure her. I stand up and close my eyes for a second, when they open I use every ounce of my training I had and begin to move. I run towards Vixen and swing my foot to his jaw he cringes a bit but immediately regains composure...just like a professional he swings low first. Its a good thing .he. trained me.
I catch his hand and twist it back words grinning as I hear his bone pop out of place. "Its not as fun when your the one being beat, is it?" I ask him remembering the first time I was defeated by him. He grunts a little but keeps a steady face.I know he is trying not to show pain....and I don't care. I twist his hand back more until I am satisfied with the amount of pain he must be in, "Goodbye Vixen" I whisper. I turn my body towards his and jam my knee in his 'area' he falls to the ground. I kick him in his face the yank him up by his shirt, I stare him in the eye and then lean with his body as I swing my arm down causing his head to come in contact with the concrete ground and blood to spill everywhere. Ag-lea screams knowing that I just killed Vixen Travis, one of the most powerful men in the world. But what she doesn't know is that she has just witnessed the real me.....and the old one's never coming back. I stand up and smile. "Come on" I say. "Are you kidding me! we have to fix this!" she screams angrily. "No." I reply. "What do you mean no?!" she yells. I laugh "You don't get it do you?! This is me. This is the real me, the person your seeing right now is the person that was thrown in a mental institution. This is how I acted before I lost everything I had and I prefer myself this way" I return a scream of frustration. She stares at me, "I created a monster". I laugh.
"Your my little cousin...I wouldn't let anything happen to you. I will protect you with my life, and to do that I had to kill him. He was never gonna let me or you go" I tell her. She takes a deep breath and looks at me "Your not gonna let the men who killed our parents kill me...right?" she asks me UN sure. I look at her with the realization that as brave as she was acting, she was truly scared of being hurt. "I wont let them hurt you .NEVER." I tell her pulling her small body into a hug. Her tears leak into my dress, "I was there Chance....I saw them kill my family." she says. I nod my head " I saw them kill my family too. That's why I was put into a mental institution, I was able to tell everyone what happened. But as soon as I opened my mouth to tell people I wasn't guilty I had just seen who did it....they stopped listening.I was put in for over 15 years" I tell her my voice shaking. She stops crying, "Over fifteen years....." her voice quivers. "yea." I whisper.
We walked to a hotel, nobody bothered us they just walked as far away as they could. When we entered our hotel room I felt that something wasn't right...I didn't know what wasn't right but there was 'something' making me second guess our choice of shelter. I realize that if someone were watching us...that saying our real names would make it worse. "Demeter, I think we should keep walking...we can find another hotel closer to the house" I tell her hoping she takes immediate notice of her name. She looks at me confused "Chance, whats wrong?" she says. My heart drops, "Get out of here right now! Run!" I yell. Her eyes go wide when she realizes the mistake she made. The windows shatter and 3 men come in, "Go!" I yell. "Not without you!" she screams. I take a deep breath, I run towards her and throw her over my shoulder. We both let out frightened screams as we fall out of the window. When we land our bodies take off towards the destination...the house's.
Minutes pass and me and Ag-lea are running for our lives. A black SUV drives quickly behind us. I signal to Ag-lea that we need to split up and she nods her head in agreement. People scream loudly as I run past them with full speed. I stop dead in my tracks as another black vehicle stops in front of me. When I turn around to take off I see that I am unfortunately surrounded by cars. Then the UN thinkable happens. Ag-lea runs towards me...
She whispers in my ear.. I look at her bewildered.
"WE CAN'T!" I scream at her. She points at the guys pointing guns in our direction "we have no other choice!" she yells. I nod.
I close my eye's right when Ag-lea begins to chant her spells..just like she said to. I can feel the hidden darkness rising up in me...Its something I haven't felt since I was a child. I forgot to tell Ag-lea about my dark past...This could start a massacre if I returned to my old ways. I can't. I just can't continue.
but its too late. Ag-lea starts saying the cue words in the chant...
"Rising of the dark, I take it to heart. We of all people should not be found guilty of the unregistered mistakes taken back by our rights. We have freedom, we are the family of a long line of powerful angels and spell casters and I demand you set us free from this bewildered and volatile contraption you call a man hunt. If you don't I will rip your soul out of your body and feed it to the most UN holy creatures the world has to offer.Rising in the dark, I take it to heart." she screams.
I feel a strong wave of energy hit me and then leave me abruptly. The feeling left over is nauseating and torturous, it worked. Ag-lea told me when I felt power leave my body that the spell worked. That leaves one last thing for me to do, I open my eyes.....
Everybody. Everybody is,
Dead.
