You were sitting down at a table towards the front talking to Natasha about how excited you were to finally hold the little bundle growing inside of you that was currently pressing up against your bladder. You were trying to find the quickest route to the bathroom but like always when Tony threw a party people always showed up. Your eyes scanned the crowd trying to find your husband Steve. Natasha caught your attention when she started talking to your growing belly talking about how aunt Nat will fight anyone who breaks her little nieces heart. You laughed when you heard Nat say "I'm telling you Lexy she's going to be a total badass just like me."

"Sorry to interrupt but I would like to dance with my lovely wife." Steve said to Natasha as he placed his hand on your shoulder."Dance with me doll" he said holding his hand out as you took it you made your way to the dance floor. Steve pulled you close to him as you slide your hand over his shoulder and he placed one hand on your waist as the other hand stayed intertwined with the hand he was holding. Oh My Love by John Lennon played in the background. "Every time I see you, you leave me breathless and I can't wait to finally hold her in my arms."he said as he placed a large hand on your belly. "I love you so much I can't imagine what my life would be like without you in it."you said looking at him with such tenderness. You knew he was going to be an amazing father and a great role model for her but with his line of work you both knew that it was going to be challenging at times but that's why you were glad you had such a supportive team standing behind you and Steve.

"Ahhh!" You said clutching onto your stomach as your water broke and feeling a overpowering sensation of pain go through your entire body. "What's wrong sweetheart is it time?" He asked as he looked around already picking you up and trying to find the quickest way out. "What about the spill?" You said as you groaned out in pain. Once you reached the door you both ran into Vision and Steve said "Vision I need you to tell them that it's time please tell Nat and Wanda to get Lexys bags from our room and to meet us at the hospital." "Of course Captain Rogers."

"Just breathe Lex it's going to be okay."he said. "Oh really you expect me to just breathe when I have a tiny human pushing its way out of me! Why don't you try pushing a baby out of yourself and see if you can just breathe!" You snapped as he ignored your comment and just continued to let you squeeze his hand hoping it would make you feel better. At that exact moment your doctor Dr.Grey walked in and it was time to deliver. "Okay Lexy on the count of three I'm going to need you to push" instructed Dr.Grey. You held Steve's hand tightly afraid to let go. "I can't do it! Just gimme the stuff that makes it stop hurting!" You said very quickly regretting the idea of a natural birth.
"Lexy listen to me you are doing an amazing job and I'm so proud of you and your strength. I know it hurts but like you said you have to push our little human out of you okay." Steve said trying to reassure you " 1,2 and 3. Push!" She said as you used all the strength you had left in you to push as hard as you could. After six hours of pushing and screaming you were finally able to see just how much all of that pain was worth when you got to hold your beautiful baby girl. Steve sat down on the chair beside you watching you hold her and feeling like the happiest man alive. "So what should we name her?" You said glancing at Steve " I don't know I was thinking of the names that the team suggested but now that she's here they don't seem right especially not Tony's suggestion of naming her Tonya." He said with a chuckle thinking back to the day you had asked everyone to give you some ideas for a name. "How about Sarah Marie Rogers." You suggested " It's perfect I won't be the one responsible to break the news to Tony that she isn't going to be named after him" he said smiling at you as the remaining team of the Avengers came in excited to greet the newest member of the team.
