Between Two

Chapter Nine

As we sit in the van for a bit I begin to drift off in my thoughts. I look down at my hands and then my eyes widen.

"STOP THE CAR!" I yell.

"What Rose?" Louis asks.

"STOP THE CAR!" I yell.

I couldn't believe I forgot about my missing ring. How in the world could I forget about that? I guess I got caught up in everything else.

I felt the car swerve to the side of the road and then stop.

"What, Rose?" Liam asks.

"My ring!" I yell.

"Oh shit." Louis says.

"We cant just turn the car around." Niall says.

"Really?" I asks unbuckling and getting up.

"Rose, sit down." Zayn says.

"NO!" I snap.

I walk up to the front and I look at Liam, "Let me drive."

"No, Rose." He says sternly looking at me.

"Bad idea." I say and push him out of the seat. I sit down and turn the car around back to the amusement park.

I park and then jump out of the van and run to the spot I knew it was missing at. The swings... That guy probably already found it and sold it. As I made my way through the park I heard girls screaming and crying. I glanced at them and they were fan girling... Of course like any other teenage girl that over populates this earth. I went to the exit way and knocked on the window of the building the guy was in.

He rolls his eyes at me and then pays attention to the ride. I knock once again and he ignores it. Then I knock rapidly until I ignore him.

"WHAT, BITCH?" He yells.

"I need your help!" I say.

"My help? Are you tricking me?" He asks.

"No, no." I say as tears stream down my cheeks.

He looks at me, "Oh this must be serious, the poor girl is crying."

"I lost my engagement ring and I need to know if you know where it is." I say.

"Sorry." He says, " I don't but I'll look."

Then I felt arms around my waist pulling me in. Immediately I thought it was Louis, until I heard Louis yelling. I moved away from the stranger. Right when I turn around I knew who it was.... Alex. Why him? Why was here? Why was he touching me? Did he like me?

"Who do you think you are?" Louis asks him.

"Her bully. I'm supposed to hurt her." Alex says truthfully.

Then I look behind Alex and notice Harry was a distance away stopped in his tracks. I run over to him and ask him what's wrong.

"Nothing, Rose." He says.

"Harry tell me... Why did you stop dead in your tracks walking over here?" I ask.

"No reason." Harry says through gritted teeth.

"Harry tell me!" I demand.

" I said it was nothing!" He yells.

I turn around and walk back to Louis and Alex fighting.

"Listen, mate. I don't know who the hell you are but you need to leave Rose alone." Louis says.

"Here maybe we should try to get off to a good start." Alex says, "Hi, I'm Alex..."
