Niall's POV
I was absolutely pissed at Liam. Jumping to conclusions like that.
God.
I sighed, running my hands through my hair as I decided on going to Liam's house to try and explain.
I hopped into my car, chewing my lip as I drove to his house.
I knocked on the door. When no one answered, I let myself in. It was unlocked, surprisingly. I called for him.
"Liam?" I called all around the house before heading upstairs.
I went into his room, and found the bathroom door closed.
"Liam? Please, just let me explain." I begged. I didn't get an answer. At all. Odd.
I pushed open the door, and tears instantly sprung to my eyes.
Liam. My Liam was lying on the bathroom floor, motionless with a pill bottle in his hand. Empty.
I rushed to him, shaking him. "Liam! Please!" I sobbed, quickly dialing 9-1-1.
I stuffed the note in my pocket before cradling his body to mine, sobbing. "Liam! Please! Come back!" I cried, my body shaking.
When the ambulance arrived, I rose in the back, sobbing the entire time I told Greg what happened.
This was not okay.
This was my fault.
And I knew it was. There wasn't a thing I could do about it either.
------------
I stayed right outside of Liam's door, sobbing uncontrollably.
I could hear the doctors inside of the room rushing around, beeping, and rushed, worried voices.
I tensed when I heard a doctor shout the word, "CLEAR!" About three times.
I held my head on my hands, sobbing, still.
Nothing would ever be the same is something happened to him.
I would become depressed, stop eating.
It wouldn't be good.
It seemed like more than eight hours when the doctor came out.
He looked at me, and every worry that I would have had came to my mind.
What if he didn't make it?
Why couldn't I have done something?
What happened?
This was my fault, wasn't it?
Oh, right, it was.
I looked at the doctor, "Mr. Horan?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow.
I nodded weakly, "Yes.." I whispered.
"We have some good news and some bad news." He said, causing me to nod.
"The good news is, he's alive."
I nodded again, swallowing the lump in my throat so I could speak.
"What's the bad news?" I asked weakly, my voice coming out as a hoarse crack.
The doctor looked at me. "He's not recovering well.. We have all the reason to believe that he's going to survive, but the pain medication that he overdosed on was very strong. We don't know how long it will be before he can be released, but it should be in about two weeks minimum."
I nodded and he clapped me on the shoulder, "He wants to see you." He said quietly.
I nodded, standing up and walking into his room. "Liam?" I whispered, and he weakly turned his head to me. He was smiling.
I kneeled beside his bed, holding his hand. "How are you feeling?" I whispered, looking into his amazingly brown eyes.
Liam shrugged, "Im okay... But.. Can you explain what happened with you and Zayn.. Please?" He croaked.
I ran a hand through my hair.
"I was going to tell him that you had picked me to be your partner in choir, and he just.. He just kissed me." I sighed, watching Liam just stare at me.
"Liam, I wouldn't ever do anything like that to you on purpose.. I promise." I whispered as I began.
"You may not have the perfect body. You may not have the perfect hair, or teeth, or grades, but you're mine. And as long as you're mine, you're perfect to me." I kissed his cheek gently, my hand still in his.
"You're absolutely perfect to me in every way possible. I don't know why you don't see it, because I do. And it's amazing. Every time I look into those chocolate brown eyes of yours I get lost. When I look at you, I can't really ever form coherent thoughts, much less words." I whispered, squeezing his hand gently.
"Liam, I love you, and I would never hurt you. Please, know that." I said softly.
Liam sat up, pressing his lips to mine hard.
I immediately responded, returning his heated kiss. He then wrapped his arms around my neck carefully, but I pulled away.
I chuckled, "Go to sleep, you deserve the rest. And besides, I'm pretty sure snogging in a hospital isn't that good. Just wait util you get out though." I winked, chuckling.
Liam nodded, smiling. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow."
And with that, I left, a smile smeared on my face.
