"your life takes an exciting turn, you realise you're the protagonist in a  story. On the time that the plot isn't progressing, you decide to use your plot armour to do wild stuff you only dreamed of doing before"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you're there.

I know you're reading this.

I know you're sat there, flicking through the pages, or the screen, or wherever this is printed.

I bet you think "oh this is just part of the story", but no.

I bet you think there's some random person sat in her bed at 1am, writing because she can't sleep and is bored or something. Maybe you're right. Maybe you're wrong.

Either way, I know what I am. And whether or not I'm in your existence doesn't stop me existing. Just think about it for a minute: you're hearing the words of a real person. Not a story thought up in someone's head; a real person.

Weird right? It's weird for me too. I'm just going through my life, just doing my thing, all to find out a load of people in a different existence are reading my life. And now we're connected! Guess this is a sci-fi book? Anyway. My name's Alex Chardner, and I'm 17. I don't know the similarities between our worlds, but I live in a country called "England". Ring any bells? So who are you? I guess you can't say anything. Only I've realised that this is real. I guess you can't communicate if you don't believe... does that mean you still don't believe I'm real? Come on man! What evidence do you need? Oh well. For now, I'm gonna call you Sam. Sam's pretty androgynous right? Since I don't know your gender, I don't want to call you something like Amelia, and find out you're a super buff middle aged guy. Now I'm imagining that. Pft.

Anyway, off track. I'm trying to work out what the plot is. Stories usually have a purpose, right? The only one I can think of is exams, but I did my GCSEs last year. In case you don't have those in your world, they're tests you take at the end of secondary school when you're 16. I guess the author's taking a plot break? During those you usually see the characters' back stories. There is literally nothing interesting in my life. I was born to two happily married parents, had a sister 2 years later, did ok at school made some friends et cetera, et cetera. So... what can I do? I'm the protagonist I can make the story. What would happen if I jump off of a cliff? Would I die? I'm pretty valuable to the plot, so they wouldn't kill the main character (Unless you're d******t). AM I IMMORTAL??? Let's try it.

Oh, and let's go back to normal story mode. This seems more like a conversation than a character introduction.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So this is another writing-prompt-s writing prompt. I have about 25 of them saved, so expect a lot of those. I really like this story too, and have ideas of what to do with this. I guess we'll see.

Also, happy new year!
