"So what did you think about that History test today?" Alex - my best friend - asks curiously, his head tilting forward and to the side to look at me. I just look down at him with my wide eyes getting even wider, not even realizing.

"History test!?" My squeaky voice blurts out, obviously stunned by the reminder.

"Don't you remember...?" He asks while raising an eyebrow in confusion, "Didn't you already have History anyways??" And that's when the thought sparked my head: I was asleep. During the test... I had slept through a test! Panic begins to prickle the back of my neck like needles, though I being to take quick breathes to calm down my nerves.

"I actually don't-... I kinda fell asleep?"

"Wait, wait, wait!" Alex pauses in his step to look at me, making me stop as well. "You fell asleep, during a test?" The comment made me shrug innocently.

"I didn't mean to! It's not like I can control when I'm tired." I defend while strolling up to my locker and beginning to input the code. Alex just leans against the locker next to me with his books huddled up against his chest.

"So how do you think you did- I mean, how do you think you would've done?" He presses, making me begin to frown. I give him a slight glare, indicating that he should stop. Taking the gesture, Alex throws a hand up and gives a careless shrug, "Alright! Alright! I'll drop it."

"Good." My frown turns into a grateful, and relieved, smile. Finally I stuff my books into my backpack, since it was already the end of the day. "You coming over to my house today?" I ask curiously, glancing over at him.

"Well it depends if you want to help me with my wads of Algebra homework." He adds a sarcastic tone to his voice.

"It'd be my honor, princess Alex." I smirk as he flashes me 'the look' that he gives me every time I do something he doesn't like.

"Oh shut up." He scoffs with a roll of his eyes. "I'll meet at the front of the school in 5?"

"Deal. Just don't be late this time." I teasingly joke, zipping my backpack up and taking it out of the metal container.

"Whatever." He chuckles and nudges me playfully before straightening up and heading towards his own locker. As I begin to shut the locker, my vision begins to blur and fizzle. I quickly slam the door shut as a bloody and battered face pops up for just a millisecond, making me back away with a hard look in my face. Was it the girl? Again, more people glance over at me with a funny, yet worried expression. Ugh... Second time today. Hiding my face, I rush down the hall in shame. Am I going insane...?
