Ino closed the door of her apartment behind her. Leaning her head on the door she released a heavy sight she's was holding. She made her way to her sofa and slumped over feeling exhausted. Her face had a blank expression and her eyes were looking at the wall but mentally she wasn't.
Her cellphone started ringing, making her come back to earth. She search for her phone lazily from inside her purse. Once she grabbed it, Ino looked at the screen to see who was calling.
*Sai*
"Hey Sai." Ino answered laying back on the sofa.
"Hello Love. How was work?"
"Good, Fridays are always chill." She replied. "How about you?"
"Still here." Sai said with an annoyed tone.
"So that means you're getting out late." Ino got up from the sofa and went to her little kitchen.
"Yeah sorry about that love, we won't be able to go to that restaurant I told you about." Sai told her a sounding disappointed.
"That's fine Sai." Ino proceed by opening the cabinet and grabbing a wine glass.
"But we can go tomorrow?"
"No, I can't tomorrow. Im going out with some old friends of mines that I haven't seen in a while." She told him while pouring the wine into the glass.
"Oh" Sai didn't said anything else.
Ino felt guilty she didn't want to completely ignore him like that.
"We can go on Sunday. We are both free that day."
"Yes! Sunday it is." Sai said a little more enthusiastic. "Ok love I have to go back to work. See you on Sunday."
"Bye Sai... Take care." She removed the phone from her ear and hang up. Grabbing her wine glass and taking it to her lips.
Feeling the taste of the wine in her mouth released some of the tension she felt in her muscles. She looked at her phone laying on her kitchen counter, guiltiness eating her inside. She knew she was being a bad girlfriend, they been together for almost a year now and she still thinks about another man when she has a perfectly good one by her side. She thought that by going out with Sai she will forget about him and fill that empty void she felt inside. So she thought but boy how wrong she was.
Ino came to cared for Sai very deeply over the course of their relationship. He has been nothing but a gentleman to her. But she couldn't give him what he wanted and that was the three simple words "I Love You". Sakura sometimes would tell her to just break up with him if she doesn't feel the same way, but Ino couldn't do it and that's because she's scared. Scared to be alone, to die alone because she knew deep down in her heart she will never stop loving Shikamaru a person that will never be available for her.
