Stained

He spills ink on a page,

And she gladly cleans it up with her favorite hanky.

The cloth is drenched in black,

Blue curling around the edges,

Masking the beautiful floral patterns underneath.

He offers to wash it up for her;

He'll return it good as new

She says no and he feels bad,

But the next day he notices:

She hasn't washed out the stain.
