Chapter 2
"I must be dreaming." Valerie sang along with the radio.
"Lovebug, close your eyes. We're almost there." Ryan whispered in her ear, rubbing her lower back. Val nodded and closed her eyes. The car drove for another 15 minutes before coming to a stop. A cloth soon draped around Valerie's face, causing her to slightly jump.
"I don't want you to peek. Wait right here and don't move." Ryan stated. A car door opened and closed, leaving her alone in the car. A faint singing voice sounded from the radio.
"Say something I'm giving up on you." A Great Big World's voice soothed the tenseness in Valerie's body as she slowly swayed to the music. Soon after, the sound of a door opening filled Valeire's ears as she was slowly lifted out of the car and gently sat down on the hard ground.
"Ry?" She croaked. His scent filled her nose as he leaned in.
"I'm here. Walk with me." He reassured her, squeezing her hand.
The couple walked towards the door of the restaurant. In front of them stood two gold double doors. Ryan reached out to open the door but a hostess beat him to it. Ryan smiled and guided Valerie inside.
"I smell food." Valerie perked up, getting a chuckle out of Ryan.
"You smelled right, darling." He smiled, pulling out a chair for her. Valerie cautiously sat down. Ryan walked around to sit across from her.
The restaurant was dimly lit. The walls were burgundy and gold and various paintings hung on the walls. The only table that was in the restaurant was Valerie and Ryan's table. There was a white long flowing table cloth with a vase of red roses and 2 champagne glasses sitting on their table.
"You may remove your blindfold now." Ryan smiled, amused at Valerie's bemusement.
Valerie briskly took the blindfold off and admired her surroundings. "R-Ryan. This looks beautiful." She stuttered.
"Not as beautiful as you." Ryan beamed, reaching across the table to grab her petite hand.
"Oh, babe, stop it." Her cheeks flushed a deep red color.
"It's true." He implied. A thin waitress and a stubby waiter walked out with covered platters in each hand.
"Ahh!" Ryan rubbed his hands together. "Just in time." He grinned.
The waitress and waiter sat down the platters in front of the couple. They both uncovered them and Valerie's mouth watered at the food in front of her. On her first plate was a huge Lobster Tail, grilled shrimp, and a well done steak. On the other were mash potatoes, seasoned green beans, and a strip of paper. On Ryan's plates were the same things, except he didn't have a strip of paper on his.
Valerie picked up the strip of paper and read it.
'You're in for it tonight. Get ready. -Ry'
Valerie smirked and looked up to see a small grin on Ryan's face.
Ryan and Val said their prayer and began to dig in.

After they ate their amazing dinner, they talked for a while about random things and how work was.
"There are more surprises awaiting you my love." His deep, smooth voice divulged. Valerie smiled and nodded in agreement. Ryan stood up and helped Val out of her chair. They exited the restaurant and got back into the car.
