My name is Amatis Blacc, and I'm here to tell you the story of how i ended the rage in my race. I probably sound insane when I say I am half-god.... Greek god to be exact. Well all of the 'gods' are real, so real that they have kids with mortals. I know because I am one of these kids but I am one of the special ones. I am a daughter of the lost god. My story is a sad story, it is filled with death, heart break, misfortune, and an unhappy ending. I was born in London, England. I was raised most of my life on the streets of Bradford, Africa, and the US. Ever since I turned 4 my life has changed dramatically. Before April 23, 1744 I could say I had a normal life with my parents and sister. My mum was an explorer and my step-dad was a banker. We went to school I learned how to read, how to add small numbers, and how make grilled-cheese sandwiches. After that miserable year I learned how to pick pocket, steal food from a vendor, find good places to hide, running from danger, and defending my ground. Now you see the differences between me and other kids my age. Now I'm going to tell how the beginning of my crazy adventure begins.
"Maddie HURRY UP!" Addison yelled over her shoulder. We were in our flat in London, England. It was currently in flames and we were stuck in it. I only got a short glimpse of the people- monsters- who started the fire. They were tall with scales on their skin, green skin. and fangs, large fangs! they scared me, i sometimes have bad dreams about them still. My mum and dad were in the kitchen distracting the monsters. When we ran past it, I saw my mum holding a pan above one of the monsters while another monster was bashing my step-dad's head against the sink. I heard his body thud on the floor i burst into tears by the sight. Only being 5 years-old at the time, I was terribly terrified. No child my age then and now deserved to see there family being bloody killed in front of them. It was demented, and insufferable. We were finally outside the house through the back door. I was clinging to my satyr stuffed toy. My mother insisted it was a gift from my father and when I hug it's like hugging him. 'he wanted me to have it' she would say. I understand now but then I thought it was strange but didn't mind. It was a wonderful toy it calmed me down.
I stopped running once we were in the alley behind our house, and sobbed. "They'll come for us next! Don't you understand Maddie! WE'RE NEXT!" Addie was screaming at me with tears trickling down her dirtied cheeks. I looked back at my old flat teary eyed and remembered all the years I spent there. I grew up there. It was so sad I was only 5 and I had to learn to survive now. I turned to Addie and ran to her and cried into her light green blouse. And she grabbed me and picked me up and began to run. I could feel sobs racking her body and I knew she needed someone to tell her things would be okay she needed this more than anyone. She just lost both of her parents. Little did we know SHE was next.
~ 4 year time lapse.~
We ran nonstop ever since, only taking short breaks for sleep. We ran with only bread, moldy cheese and water. If we were lucky we would be able to steal a few fruits or fish fingers. I do wish that I could live in a comfy flat but I would put that house in terrible danger forcing me to stay on the streets. ' that thing will never stop, it will kill us soon.' Addison would tell me. I don't.... i still don't understand why we were delaying our deaths. But Addison was in charge so I never complained.
Over the years we had to change our names so no one could trace us, we also changed our appearance. Addie is now Skylar, and my new name is Amaris (in honor of my best friend) we kept our last names, Amaris Shade & Skylar Simone. I guess they kind of fit us well, right? Sky cut her hair and wore a newsboy hat everywhere she went, and wore baggy clothes to hide her curves. I grew my hair out extremely long to hide my face i usually wore under my beanie, and I also wore a black shirt with denim jeans. They were made for boys but I thought I would be nice to try it.
It was March 4, 1839. Bradford, England. It was a strangely foggy day, now when I say it was 'strangely foggy' i mean you couldn't see anything 6 feet away from you. I kept running into the walls, causing multiple bruises and scrapes. By the time I reached the market my arms and legs were probably purple and blue. Which could have caused some of the strange looks I received. When I found what I was looking for my eyes glowed bright unlike the dull color it had been for all my life. I stole 3 apples, 1 for me, 1 for Sky, and 1 for Sky and I to share. But once I made my way back to the alley Sky wasn't there. I looked around the corner and saw her holding an alley cat walking away from a police man. Then a strange thing happens, when the alley cat jumps out of my sister's arms all of a sudden time seems to stop. The cat is in mid-air and almost touching the ground. Yes I said ALMOST! The people walking in the streets stopped mid-step, cars stopped moving about, and time was still. The only thing that seemed to be working in this timeless area was Me, Sky, and some boy who was walking by me.
