Chapter 3, Everything comes in threes

The house on the inside was very homey. Wood, wood and more wood decorated by pictures of family and friends, I would assume. Peach and light blues covered the windows in flowy fabrics, as well as the couch in the sitting room where she left myself and the boy Ash, to fetch the tea, or juice in my case. I didn’t know where Dae and Gar or Cay went, but I trusted them, and by the looks of it they trust these people as well, so here I stayed waiting for my wolves.

After a few minutes, Mrs Pen Jones, as she introduced herself as, walked into the room with a tray of mugs and cups of juice. She smiled at me as she put the juice in my hands. The room was quiet, but comfortable, that is until I looked over to Ash. Immediately I felt a shiver run down my spine, from the stare I was on the receiving end of. I quickly looked back to Mrs. Jones who was watching her son. As if she felt my stare looked back to me and smiled.

“So, Akira right?” she asked politely, which I nodded to as she continued “How are you?”

“Good” I said quietly, now a little more nervous. I anxiously looked around for my wolves but they were yet to show up.

Obviously guessing as to what I was looking for, Mrs. Jones continued “Don't worry they will be here soon, and with a surprise for you. You just sit back and relax. Perhaps my son could show you around, at least until your friends arrive? How does that sound?” she asked in a sweetly voice as she looked to her son. Who for some reason sprang to his feet, with a big smile on his face. I just looked at him, and winced when he jumped up so fast. I didn’t want to be rude and impolite but I didn’t want to go anywhere with someone I didn’t know.

“No thankth you” I supplied in a small voice, even though I was anything but calm. I remember I felt sad at the look of disappointment of Ash's face, but I just didn’t know why so I turned my head towards the window as he sat back down. As my gaze swung to the window I noticed three people walking in the back yard. An older man about thirty, and two boys that looked the same age as Ash. I turned my head to Mrs. Jones but she just smiled at me as they continued on into the house.

When they walked through the door, I looked up at them in a questioning manner, I didn’t know why but they didn’t scare me, in fact I wasn’t scared at all now. I frowned as I looked at them, when the older man came over and stood closer to me, but bending down on one knee as he looked at me. He smiled a most charming smile, but that’s not what I was looking at, in fact I didn’t notice his face at all, it was his eyes. Grey eyes. Like Damon’s eyes. He smiled at me again and reached his hand to my little one, completely making it disappear with his large hands.

“Hey Squirt” the man said softly. My eyes widened as I looked to him, and I even think my mouth fell open, I'm not quite sure, I was just in shock. How did this man know my nickname from Damon? Why does he have the same eyes? How did-? Who did-? I was so confused. Apparently that showed on my face because the three of them chuckled a little as the older man plopped himself on his bum in front of me. “I see you are confused, and rightly so squirt, and as I see from your expression you have put two and two together but don’t believe it, am I right?” he asked in a soft but laughter filled voice.

“Um?” I didn’t know what to say, I mean come on, what should I have said to that. That this, or these three people are my wolves, that’s impossible. I didn’t know what to do so I stared at him, hugging my teddy that was stuck between my arm and my body this whole time.

Again they chuckled, followed by the remaining two people as well, so now all five people were laughing softly at my stunned expression. Well I wasn’t having that, in fact I become mad at them for trying to play games with me that I didn’t understand. Tears sprang to my eyes as I jumped away from them and yelled “You're not him, your not Dae, get away from me” and ran for the door, slight surprised at the clarity in my voice.
