I came in, and he could tell I was worried. I tried not to show it, though, so he wouldn't try to calm me down. "So now what?" I asked.
"Now, we wait. If you see me resisting, just write what I say."
"How will I know if your resisting, though?" He gave as much of a smirk as he could manage.
"Oh, you'll know." As time want on, we started talking. "So, what's this all about. If you're being controlled, who's controlling you?"
"It's like a split personality, know what I mean? I could be myself one minute but then he takes over the next. When he takes over, I loose ask control over myself. Even if I try to fight him, it's three times harder to resist."
"Well, I feel so much safer now," I joked, making light of the situation. I couldn't help my nerves though. "Don't be nervous," He advised. "Stop reading my mind" I said bluntly. "I wasn't. You're shaking like a leaf." I looked away, add I felt something warm come in contact with my shoulder. I turned back around to see him facing me, his crystal noire eyes sparkling, with his hands on my shoulder. "Don't worry." He gave me a grave look. "I'll do whatever I can to make sure you escape before-" I threw my arms around him, and he awkwardly wrapped his around me.
"The reason I told you to run was because I'm trying to protect you. My biggest fear is that something world happen to you, and I wouldn't be there to protect you from it. That's how much you mean to me." My face got red but immediately very pale. I felt the muscles in his back tense and contract. Suddenly I wasn't the only one of us shaking. He was starting to perspire, and his group around me loosened. He ran to the counter to keep himself from falling. His face was an image of pain and horror, and he started breathing heavily. I rest my hand on his shoulder, and he let out a gasp. "Go, now. Run. " I stood where I was. "But what about-"
"You're more important to me. I'll be fine, just go." Tears filled my eyes as I ran from the house.
I ran until I got caught in the city lights. I was out of breath, and I needed to rest. But all of a sudden, I felt a shockwave of pain, starting from my head, and shooting down to my legs. My friend was no longer with me. I collapsed on the sidewalk, unconscious, letting myself slip into the darkness of the night.
==============================
My eyes sprung open as I expected, and found, the worst that could happen. "I was hoping this would be easy," He said with a furious look on his face. "Eddie," I moaned, still on the borderline of consciousness. "Please-"
"Eddie isn't with us, darling. You can address me as Edward." He was controlling me, giving me the worst feeling. I felt add if I'd pass out at any moment, but it never came.
"As I was saying, you had to complicate things, making me carry you ask the way here. It makes me wonder, you'd have to have a lot of energy to run that far, maybe you're friend had something to do with it. He must care about you alot then, because he never uses his powers that freely." He saw me struggle to stay awake, and my head started pounding.
"You do know why he doesn't care about anyone much, right?" He paused. "Because I destroy anything he cares too much about." I knew I must've been shaking by now, but I could only imagine how pale I got from that one sentence. But then, I heard his voice, Eddie's, as if it were a distant memory. "It's not me. Please believe me, it's not me." That was all I could remember, before the darkness.
