(Highschool AU, Angel!Cas and Human!Dean)

Dean's POV

"Ok Cas are your eyes still closed?"

"Yes Dean but I still don't understand. Why do I-"

"Cas, for the last time, it's a surprise and if I tell you it will spoil it. Now, here we are, ok? Don't-no! Don't open your eyes yet!"

Dean pulled up in the parking space and got out of the impala, then guided Cas out afterwards. They walked up to a large entrance with lights that stood out against the darkening sky glittering inside the surprise place. Dean stopped Castiel abruptly, making him trip up, but Dean caught his waist and dragged Cas towards him.

"Ready?" Dean said, standing Cas in front of him.

"Um, yes Dean, but when-"

"Now! Open your eyes."

Castiel removed his hands from covering his eyes to reveal a large area of glittering rides with bright colours and flashing lights. There were tons of people walking around, forming short queues to get on rides.

"Wow, Dean, it's a carnival! I've never attended one of these before."

"Yeah, I thought you'd like it. It's just a little one, and its only here for toda- look at that! Isn't it cool! We should go on it Cas! Come on!" Dean grabbed Castiel's hand and dragged him with all of his sudden enthusiasm to a big wheel that was placed in the middle of the place.

They waited in line for a while before mounting the ride, Dean had to explain a lot of things to a very confused Castiel but they were soon on and it was going. You could say it was a big wheel, but it really wasn't that big.

"Dean, what exactly is the purpose of this?" Castiel asked, cocking his head to the side.
"Uh, purpose, er you just sit on it really. Erm, enjoy the view, I guess." Dean gestured to the sky. Dark clouds from smog, grey, no sun, darkening, bland, boring.  Quite a view.
It was slow, and quite boring, but they enjoyed each other's company and the silence was not awkward. Dean actually quite liked this.

Cas had his hands by his side resting on the seat.  Dean kept glancing at them like he expected them to fall off or something. They looked nice. They'd look even nicer in mine. Dean thought. That was a thought. Hey, good idea me. That was an idea. And a good one.
Dean flopped his hands to his side,  his thumb touching Cas's little finger,  who glanced down and smiled. Cas turned his hand upside down under Deans', then lifted his gaze to Dean's face. Their eyes locked for what seemed like an eternity. Dean drowned in Cas's Blue eyes, they really were spectacular.

They didn't realise the ride was coming to an end. They reached the floor and a man came over to lift up the bar. Dean drew his eyes from Cas, glancing at his lips on the way, and entangled his fingers with Castiel's before pulling him out of his step and over to a place near some other stalls.

"Sooo Cas, whaddya wanna do now, " Dean began, swinging his and Castiel's hands as they walked around, taking in everything that was there. "We're meeting Sammy there in like 10 minutes so we can-"

"Dean, Sam is already there, look." Cas said, lifting the hand Dean was holding to point. Sam was there. How did I miss Sammy? He's pretty hard to miss, already taller than me and probably most people in the world. Sam approached them when he saw Cas waving frantically.

"Heeeyyy guyyssss!" Sam exclaimed. He looked down at Dean and Cas's entwined hands, looked at Dean confused, then wiggled his eyebrows before recommending the 'one that goes really fast down its like really cool Dean c'mon!'
