I cringed. Corey was talking about starting a singing career. I love him more than I love life itself. But he can't sing for sh*t.
"I mean, I'm excellent at acting. Singing can be a different path." Corey went on.
I mustered up a smile.
"Yeahhh."
I was gonna have to be the one to tell him that was a bad idea.
Haimster was there too. He looked at me and shook his head.
'Can't you do it?' I mouthed to him.
'Nope.' He mouthed back.
I squeezed my eyes shut and then I opened them back up.
"Well, I gotta be going. See you two tomorrow." Haimster said, standing up. He gave me a sympathetic look as him and Felddog did their man-shake and then he left.
Corey grinned over at me.
"So? What do you think?" He asked me.
I breathed in deep. Then I ripped it off like a bandaid.
"Corey, I love you so much. I would never lie."
Corey nodded.
"I know. That's why I asked you." He said.
I breathed in again.
"But baby you can't sing." I told him.
His smile dropped.
"What?"
Oh goodness.
"You. Can. Not. Sing. You're terrible. Awful."
Corey looked so hurt. Oh Lord.
He looked down and nodded.
Then he smiled. HE SMILED.
"Thank you." He said.
I was confused.
"What?"
"Thank you. For being honest. Saved me from embarrassment."
Oh.
"Oh."
"I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too." I smiled.
