Waking up. The bed next to her was empty. Only occupied by the air, the air which smelled like her. It wasn't a surprise, but it still made her feel as though someone had run over her heart with a truck. She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand, and swore to herself that she would never let Lauren do this again.

Yet, at the same time she knew, she'd do anything for that girl. But it was seven now and she needed to get ready for work.

---

Lauren looked over at the clock, it read five o'clock. She'd been up since three just watching the girl sleeping soundly beside her. Taking note of every detail. The way her eyelids would flutter, the way she'd pull Lauren closer whenever the emerald eyed girl shifted ever so slightly.

Drip, drip, drip.

Lauren could feel the tears falling from her eyes, to her cheeks, to sheets beneath her.

She glanced one last time at the Cuban-Mexican sleeping next to her. She never wanted to hurt her, never wanted her to feel any pain at all. She just wanted to hold her and protect her from the world. But Lauren knew she was a big part of of Camila's pain so maybe, just maybe, it would be better if she just left and never came back.

So that's what she did.
