Dean woke up to the sound of the shower water cutting off or on, he couldn't tell which. He was given his answer when the bathroom door opened to Castiel wrapped in a towel. Dean tried, but did not succeed, in stopping his mind from wandering to smutty places that the author of the story is not bringing up until later in the book. Castiel didn't notice his staring at first, that is, until she was about to take her towel off, causing him to cough. Her head snapped in his direction, her cheeks red, but not as red as Dean's were.
"I didn't realize you were awake. Sorry." she smiled, embarrassed, grabbed her clothes and went back to the bathroom to change. She came out a few minutes later in some black leggings and a baggy Muse T-shirt. She took the towel off her head and ruffled her hair with it, soaking up the water, then sat by Dean.
"So, where exactly is my brother?" She looked at him blankly for a minute, then rolled her eyes at her own stupidity.
"Gabriel dragged him downstairs right before I decided to take a shower. We should probably go. I let you sleep a half hour longer. You looked peaceful." They smiled at each other and got up, leaving the room and going downstairs to grab Sam. They heard yelling from the living room, only to see Lucifer yelling about how everyone had a boyfriend but him, getting glares from everyone in the room, including Sam, who, the author hates to say, still thought he wasn't gay. He didn't hate gays. He just hasn't ever liked anyone before. He thought he was a demisexual at most. He had never had anyone, other than Dean, who cared about him, so he didn't really care about relationships. Michael, of course, was glaring because they had been flirting with each other all day and Lucifer still couldn't take the hint that he had decided he liked him back. Balthazar rolled his eyes and grabbed for his drink. He took a sip, then did a spit-take. He turned to see Gabe, Raphael, and Sam sitting there laughing. Sam's laughing quickly turned into coughing and he had to run to the bathroom so no one would see the blood. He passed Dean and Cas, who seemed to be looking anywhere but at each other. They watched him walk to the bathroom beside the kitchen, then went into the living room and sat on the couch to wait for him. Lucifer stalked over and glared at them both, arms crossed.
"What is it you need?" Castiel smiled sweetly at him, causing him to grimace, cause, you know, Satan is Satan.
"He never answered my question."
"Dude. That was, like, two hours ago. Let it go." Dean rolled his eyes and watched Cas play a game called The Sims Freeplay on her phone. Lucifer rolled his eyes, then plopped back on Michael's lap. Michael only rolled his eyes and held him by the waist, nuzzling his nose into his neck. Lucifer kept his pouty face on, but was secretly loving the attention he was getting from Michael. Gabriel and Raphael were making gagging noises and Crowley was grumbling something about how he hated love. Chuck and Bobby walked in, drinking beers, then noticed the extra kid sitting beside Castiel, then the other kid who had walked out of the bathroom and sat beside Gabriel again. Raphael handed Gabe something and Gabe sat on Sam's lap, putting what seemed to be Christmas antlers on his head, then sat back on the floor and laughed. Sam noticed the men staring at him, smiled, then turned back to Gabe who was poking his cheek repeatedly.
"Becky! Since when did we get two more kids?" Everyone stared at Chuck as if he was stupid, then went back to what they were doing. Bobby had stayed quiet the whole time, watching the boys that seemed oh so familiar. He watched the boy who was sitting by Castiel whisper in her ear, then them both getting up and getting the other boy.
"Gabriel? Will you be so kind as to let Sam go so we can leave?" Cas smiled at Gabe, waiting for his reply. Realization flashed in Bobby's eyes at the name. If he was correct, then the older boy must have been Dean.
"Oh come on, bee-lover. Let me hang out with Samoose for a while longer." Gabe was literally sitting on Sam's lap, face to face, again, tying flowers into his hair.
"Get off my brother already."
"Come on, Dean-o. I have a few more flowers." Dean rolled his eyes and turned to Cas, whisper fighting about what to do. He turned to Bobby, who was staring at him, bitchfaced him, then turned back to Castiel who seemed to have gone red at whatever he had said. Bobby looked at him, confused, then turned to Chuck, who was talking to Becky about Sam and Dean.
"You mean to tell me they're homeless? They don't look homeless to me, Beck."
"That's because the clothes they were wearing when they got here are in the dryer. The tall one is wearing Michael's clothes and the one with Cassie is wearing some of Lucifer's clothes." Chuck rolled his eyes and turned to Bobby.
"Is anything she's saying making sense to you?"
"Actually, I knew their father. And Dean, but I haven't seen them in years. Their father travels a lot. What do you mean they're homeless?"
"I mean, Cassie found the tall one on a park bench, coughing his lungs out and the other one seems to have been coming from work when she did."
"How do you know he works?" Becky rolled her eyes.
"He worked on my car at the autoshop today."
"Oh. Knew he would become a mechanic. He used to 'help' me with my car. Of course, he was three then." All three shut up when they noticed Dean and Gabriel pulling Sam up.
"Hey, Dean-o?"
"What?" He looked rudely at Gabriel, who only rolled his eyes.
"Can I come with you guys? I want to go see Charlie." Cas' face brightened up.
"She was asking about when you'd come see her. I'm sure I can take you down there once everything with Sam is settle. Of course, that's fine as long as you're fine with it." She looked at Dean for an answer, giving him her puppy-dog look. He smiled at her and shrugged.
"Whatever. As long as he is fine with walking." Gabriel gasped at this.
"Why would you make Moosey walk all the way to the hospital?" They stayed quiet, thinking. A few minutes later, Cas' eyes lit up as she got an idea. She walked away from Dean, who had been looking at her, amused at the spark in her eyes.
"Mother?" Becky turned from Chuck and Bobby.
"Yes, dear?"
"Can I use the Impala? We don't want to force Sam to walk all the way to the hospital." Castiel looked at Becky, pleading.
"As long as you are careful. You know how old that car is." Cas nodded and thanked her, then went over to drag Dean outside.
"I can totally see them being together." Chuck looked to where his wife was looking, seeing Gabriel on Sam's back first.
"Really, Beck? You ship our son and the moose?" Becky only shrugged.
"I was talking about Cassie and Dean, but that works, too." Chuck only rolled his eyes and watched the kids walk out to the garage.
*uses Tardis and timeskips cause im lazy af and don't have time to describe Dean's 'love at first sight' moment with the Impala*
As the four walked into the hospital, Sam started coughing again, chunks of blood covering hands. Gabriel looked horrified at the sight of blood and almost threw up his dinner, or, in this case, the candy he had found in Chuck's office closet. Castiel smiled at Meg, who was glowering at her.
"I thought you had off tonight, Novak? And who are those people?"
"My brother, Gabe, and Dean and Sam." Meg eyed Dean a little more than Cas thought necessary, then nodded.
"I'll call-" She was cut off by Sam's coughing, more blood spilling from his mouth. Meg looked at him quizzically and grabbed the phone by her computer.
"Doctor Roman. We need you down here now. If convenient, come. If inconvenient, come anyways." She slammed the phone on the hook and lead all of them into the waiting room, helping Sam lay down. She grimaced at the smile on Castiel's face when she said thank you, then walked back to her desk.
"She doesn't really like you, Cas. Why are you so nice to her?" Castiel looked at Dean blankly, shrugged, and watched for Doctor Roman. It was twelve minutes later that a man in a lab coat walked up to them, glaring at Castiel, who only stared at him blankly.
"Hello, Castiel, dear. What can I do for you?" he looked at the three boys, eying Sam who had blood dripping down his mouth. Castiel only looked at him expectantly, a worried look on her face. Dick, as his nametag said, rolled his eyes and beckoned the four into a room, calling for Anna, who was working a 24 hour shift. He asked questions, like 'how long has this been happening?' and 'where are your parents?' and other crap. Dean answered for Sam, seeing as he had started another coughing fit. Gabe sat beside Sam, holding a trash can near his face so he didn't get blood everywhere. Castiel was sitting beside Dean, holding his hand and rubbing circles on his hand with her thumb. Every once in a while, he would tighten his grip on her hand, but she didn't seem to mind. Dick watched them, then ordered Anna to take him to her section and run test. Castiel found this weird, seeing as he was old enough to be in the adult section, but she didn't question it, seeing as it would make it easier to see Charlie. Anna and Cas chatted as they walked to the section, the three boys behind them. Anna lead them into a room with a bed and hooked Sam up to the IV.
"I must go get the equipment for the tests. I shall be back in a few moments. Castiel. You are welcome to say hello to everyone." The girls smiled at each other, then Anna left. Castiel turned to Gabriel, who was staring at her expectantly, smiled, and lead him to the next room over. Inside was a 15 year old girl sitting on her bed, watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. When she felt more than one presence in her room, she turned to see Castiel and Gabriel. She smiled weakly, then paused the movie, taking the headphones out of her ear.
"Sup, bitches. Isn't it Gabe's bedtime?" Gabe only glared, used to the teasing about his height.
"I came here to have a good time and I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now." Gabriel looked affronted as he said this, then smiled and hugged her gently.
"It's nice to finally see you, Gabey."
"I finally found a chance to come, Charles." Castiel watched them both with smiles.
"I'm going to say hi to the others. You two be good and no pranking Anna or Meg." They both rolled their eyes and went back to talking about things. Castiel walked passed Sam's room, ignoring the thoughts from when that room used to be her's. She stopped by Claire's and said her last goodbye, giving her the present she had stashed into her trenchcoat before she left, then she stopped by Jo's room, saying hello to both her and her mother. Then she said hello to the few who were still awake. Some tried to get her to stay, but she apologized and told them she would be back tomorrow. She slowly walked to Sam's room, watching Anna put the bloodwork on the cart and leave the room. She noticed Cas and stopped, frowning.
"What's wrong, Anna?" Castiel tilted her head, confusion all over her face.
"I don't think the older brother trust me very much." Castiel smiled sadly.
"He doesn't trust a lot of people."
"Yet, he seems to trust you.. Why is that?" Cas only shrugged and walked into the room, leaving Anna to her work. Dean turned when he saw Sam staring at the doorway, only to see a tired, blushing Castiel. She didn't seem to be looking at anyone in particular. It was like she was spacing out. For what reasons, Dean had no clue. Though, by the way she would look anywhere but him, Sam was very certain it had something to do with Dean. She sat down in the chair next to Dean's and moaned in frustration. Dean's mind instantly went elsewhere, but then he remembers that the author still has some innocence left and makes his mind shut up. (Yeah right.... My innocence is like my heart. It doesn't exist) Both the boys watch Cas as she leans her head back, and, for a second, they think she has fallen asleep. Then her head snaps up and she looks around the room.
"Where is Gabriel? He should have come back from Charlie's room by now." she has a worried expression on her face as she races to the room next door. She stops suddenly when she sees the two sitting on Charlie's bed, watching Harry Potter still. Castiel smiles, seeing as Gabriel was never really happy unless with Raphael or Charlie, and, now, Sam. She doesn't notice Charlie turn to her, a smirk on her face.
"Hey, Cassie?" Cas is knocked from her thoughts as she watches Charlie, who seems to be staring at her.
"Yes, Charlie?" Charlie's smirk widens.
"Who is the guy behind you and why is he staring at you like you're the John Laurens to his Alexander Hamilton?" Castiel turned quickly to see Dean standing behind her, his face going red at her accusation. She rolls her eyes as she turns back to Charlie, a small smile on her face.
"This is Dean. He's a.... friend of mine. His brother is in the next room over. Gabe? Why don't you go hang out with Sam so he isn't lonely." Gabriel nods eagerly as he runs out of the room, earning a smile from Cassie and a glare from Dean. Cas watches Dean for a minute, then drags him into the room.
"So, Dean, this is Charlie. She is my little sister. No trying to sneak out and getting my brother away from your brother." Dean groans as Cas shoves him in a chair and watches her plop on the bed next to the redhead, who, might I add, was scowling at Castiel, as if sitting by her was wrong.
"Why are you sitting by me and not your boyfriend? I wouldn't care." Cas rolls her eyes and Dean groans.
"We aren't together. Why do people keep saying that?"
"Because you are."
"And why is that?" Dean was getting aggravated at this girl. Sure. She was around three years younger than him, but that didn't mean she had to be annoying as fuck.
"Because Charlie says so. Anything I say, goes. Perks of being the sibling with cancer."
"Charlotte. Shut up. You weren't the only sibling stuck in the hospital." Both Dean and Charlie were astonished at the cold demeanor Castiel had as she said those words. For a second, Charlie thought she had gone crazy, then Cas sent her an apologetic look.
"Sorry, Charlie. Its just... My medicine isn't working and now I have these bad headaches. I didn't mean to be so rude." Charlie smiled and nodded, hugging her.
"'Tis okay, Cassie. I can handle your mood swings- Hi, Anna!" Dean turned to see the other redhead in the doorway, staring at Dean impatiently.
"I'm coming. Nice to meet you, Charlie. You coming, Cas?" She smiled and nodded, hugging Charlie and kissing her forehead.
"I'll be here tomorrow and I'll send Gabriel back in here."
"Good. Gabey is so much more fun than you two are. Don't forget that you two are a couple now. You better not break her heart, Dean!" Dean glared as he ushered Cas out of the room, wrapping his arm around her waist.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Holy shit my hands hurt. As I'm finishing this chapter, Cancer by My Chemical Romance is playing and I always cry. It just makes me very emotional. Anyways, sorry this is late, somewhat, but I just finished all of season 8 of SPN and I hate Metatron and Naomi. I've heard that Gabe is supposed to come back in season 9, so I'm ready for some Sabriel. Peace out, bitches.
