Chapter 1 ; The dream

Thunder, lighting, the pattering of rain. These were the sensations that surrounded me as I ran through the dark street . I turned a corner to find myself in front of my very own house . A torrent of lightning illuminated the sky as I suddenly found myself in my backyard, transported by an unseen force. What lay before me was a scene in which I would familiarize myself in the coming months. A toddler, three or four years of age was stumbling across the yard, unaware of what was about to happen. Suddenly, as if hidden for quite some time a hooded teen jumped down right over the child injecting the contents of a sryinge into the toddlers neck. Stepping a good distance away, he started at the now crying four year old. Not fifteen seconds passed before the hooded stranger stepped away from the child when a blue neon bolt of lightning struck the toddler . But instead of being burnt to a crisp , instead of every molecule in his body being decintagrated , the child began walking back towards the house, seemingly unhurt, with any physical affects of that small incident completely gone. As I looked over the hooded stranger was also completely gone. I glanced over at a sudden sound , which happened to be a screen door with two incredibly weary parents behind it. They simply picked the boy up and brought him inside of the dwelling but before they had closed the blinds, he had spotted two red letters under his arm . A noise from above alerted me to the lightning bolt rushing down to meet my face.
Suddenly I bolted upright in my bed, resisting the urge to completely lose control and scream in terror slipping on my glasses, my eyes met the familiar walls of my room . Calming myself, I muttered   
...just a dream .
"But was it really just a dream."I wondered as I let sleep embrace me for the second time that night. I hoped the nightmares would stay away.
