Arriving At The River

Prologue

Two cats ran across their yard into the forest, holding kits by their scruffs, twolegs following close

"Are you sure others will find them?" The female of the two asked.

"I'm positive, my love." The tom replied.

The two found a bush near a river, they quickly made a opening and threw out any thorns visible.

They placed the two infant she kits inside and closed off park of the entrance, leaving a small hole.

The parents ran away, back to the twolegs. The twolegs looked for the two kits but could not find them, they gave up and went home.

Some time after the twolegs and cats went home, the kittens start mewling. A small group of cats heard their cries and searched for them.

They found the kittens quickly.

"I found the kits, Spiderstar!" A pale brown tom exclaimed.

The cat known as 'Spiderstar' sniffed the kits.

"They reek of twolegs." Spiderstar said. "Leave them."

"But brother, we can't they haven't even opened their eyes!" A young she cat exclaimed

"Nobody would take them. Their kittypets."

A grey she cat stepped forward and blinked her blue eyes, "My kits died. I'll take them. It's the least I can do.."

The she cat picked up the kittens and walked on the stones across the river and disappeared into a hollow.
