Claire's POV:
"I think that you're ready to go to home, Ms. Preston" the doctor said when he looked my papers. "But just remember take slow everything there. You're not completely fine yet. There's still some things which ask for getting rest" he continued and I nodded before I put my hoodie on which my brother had brought me yesterday.
The doctor left and I finished changing my clothes just before Alfredo walked in my room without knocking. "Stupid, I would have been naked here" I giggled. "Sorry, but are you ready to leave?" he asked and took my backpack which my brother had also brought to me on his hand. "Yes, let's go" I said and gave the last look to my hospital bed before we walked out of my room.
Alfredo helped me in his car and put my backpack on backseats before he jumped in driver's side. "I cleaned one of my rooms just for you" he smiled before he gassed away from parking lot of the hospital. "aww, thank you" I smiled and looked out of the window.
It felt weird since I had been out for a while. Everything looked so unfamiliar but that closer we got the area where I had spent my time, that better I started remember things, good and bad ones.
Alfredo stopped his car in front of his house and we opened our seatbelts. When I tried myself get out of the car he stopped me and ran quickly to my side. "Hey hey, I'm here to help you. You have to just say if you need me" he mumbled and helped me to his door before he opened the door of his house.
"Your room is upstairs, maybe not the best place since you might have still had some pains on that leg but again I'm here to help you. I'll be your personal assistant" he said. His comment made me giggle, like in old times. It didn't feel like that there would have been almost four years since we last time talked.
"Do you want eat something?" he asked and we walked to his kitchen. "Most of my food is pretty.. healthy" he mumbled and chuckled. Memories filled my head. "Yeah, I remember that. You're such a sport freak, still?" I asked and sat on the high stool.
He didn't say anything but put a big plate of chicken and rice in front of me. "I hope that this is fine. I'll go visit to the shop later today though" he said and grabbed an apple from his fruit basket. "Everything is fine like it's your house. I'm just a guest" I mumbled my mouth full of rice. It tasted heavenly.
Third POV:
It felt too good to Claire to just lay under thick blankets and worry about nothing. She felt like she would have been floating over the clouds where nobody could pull her down but Alfredo's piercing question didn't let that euphoria inside her last too long.
"What happened?" he repeated maybe 6th time already today. She didn't answer still but played like she wouldn't have heard anything. "I'm trying to push you to tell but.. " he mumbled and looked on his toes. "I know that it might not be easy to talk about thing like that but-"
"Talking won't help" she mumbled back finally and pulled her blanket even tighter around herself. She felt cold. "Whatever you say but on some point, you have to face the reality. You can't live in your dreams forever" Alfredo said and it made Claire even sadder because she knew that it was true.
She had to face the reality on some point and say out that she had made maybe the biggest mistake so far.
She couldn't just believe it how fast things had happened. How fast their neighbors had come to their house when they had heard her yelling? Would she even be here without them? Where she would be now if that would have happened?
Laying on the floor, maybe unconscious or maybe even dead. Claire felt even more colder and pulled blanket over her head.
One more day, one more day still and then she would tell everything to Alfredo.
