Princess of the Dark: chapter 3

Shadows cloaked the tunnels, as the two ancients led her down them. Every now and then they would look at her as if waithing for the other shoe to drop. They both had heard of her and her awesome powers and as powerful as they believed themselves to be, could not believe that she would surrender.

Amelia shook her head, she knew what the vampires where thinking, it was one the gifts that had been passed down to her from her all important lineage, and it was just another gift that she had learned to control and master.

Rats the size of small dogs scurried across the tunnel, yet Amelia remained un-phased she would keep her silence, for that could be the only thing that kept her and her sister alive.

Finally after what seemed like miles of walking in the cold, wet interior of the tunnel, the ancients stopped abruptly, right in front of what appeared to be stairs leading out of the cramped space.

Amelia couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief as they climbed up the stairs and in front of them was the sign delaring that they had left the city. Every mile further away from her sister, was for the better.

Amelia saw the car speeding towards them seconds before the two gooons' calling themselves ancients did. I was then that she realized that she could have beat them, had she been willing to risk of the life of her sister, on the street where they had found her draining the would-be rapist.

The car that pulled up beside them could only be described as...classy. But them what other kind of car would the King send to retrieve his most costly possession...the elusive Amelia Lynn Rosa.....Princess of the vampire world

Amelia stared up at the castle, her biggest fear come to life. After all the years she had fought to avoid this, all her efforts had been fruitless. She should have known the King would stop at nothing to have her back.

One of the ancients shoved her, and because of her utter concentration in trying to get out of this mess and back to her sister, she fell onto the mud soaked ground.

Silence ensured as she helped herself up and continued up the walk, to the Large castle that sat atop the hill. She kept a tally of how the ancients treated her, for in time, they would all pay.

Entering the large hall she wrung out her hair, but payed no mind to the mud that covered her body. Let them all see that she had no interest and paid no mind the politics of the court, nor did she wish to take her place as Princess. She had rum away years before, and in her mind, would never return.

"Amelia, darling, so good to see you again" Amelia flinched at the voice but found the courage to turn and face the star of her nightmares.

"William, how funny it then that I have no wish to see you" Amelia ignored the gasps of the court. Holding her head high she looked her father right in the face.

A look of pure fury crossed the kings face before he masked it behind the very face smile that seemed so abundant when you lived the life of the Royals.

"That is no way to speak to your father young lady. I knew we should never have let you go to the Americas. Nasty bunch they are" He said politely. The rest of the council nodded their heads in agreement.

"Allow did you? I think the proper phrasing would be that I ran away from you and your evil ways soon as I had caught wind that you had arranged for me and Ellen to be auctioned of like meat" Amelia relied sweetly, one eyebrow raised, daring hin to deny the bitter truth.

The King feigned ignorance. "I do not believe that I can keep up with your American sayings." He said quite sarcastically.

Amelia exploded. "Oh really, then how does this sound. You bargained with the devil me and my sisters life and independence by agreeing to the highest bidders that their son would have us as willing wives!" She shouted at him.

The king just seemed to not even acknowledge her words. She was no fool, she knew that had it not been for the contract that her 'loving father' had signed to the man willing to pay the most money, he would have let her and Ellen alone, God knew that he had been unfaithful to their mother, he probably had hoards of children capable and willing to be next in line for the crown.

With a way of his hand he dismissed her.

"Send her to her room where she shall wait until her fiance arrives." As they pushed me towards the stairs heading towards the servants corridors I gave my father one last death glare.
