* sherlocks POV *

It's been a week since out first encounter with the small, quaint bookshop, owned by a small, smiley man named James. Molly hasn't stopped reading her new book and she finished it within the week! She loved the book to bits, and once again Michael Morpurgo never fails to please. But, now I'm in the same pickle as last week: Molly is without a book and doesn't have anything to read, so once again we find ourselves outside the bookshop, excitement filling both of our chests.

I open the door to the bookshop and just like the week prior, Molly races off to find a good book for herself to read. I told her to go look for more than one, but that would mean we wouldn't visit the shop as frequently, and neither of us want that. Molly has her reason...and I have mine.

I watch Molly race round a corner of a bookshelf and once again she is out of my sight. I trust her to be on her own, she's very mature like that. Plus, this shop wouldn't be harmful to her so I trust her.

I walk slowly around the bookshop, looking in a different area to where I looked before.  I haven't explored enough of the shop, and the place does look like a perfect shop. All the books look like they have been hand picked for the consumers to enjoy, which makes this place feel very...homey.

"I wondered when I'd see you again." I hear the familiar Irish accent beam from behind me. I turn around to be faced with James, wearing a blue shirt with a cream jumper on top and brown trousers. Now this week he looks more like a bookshop owner.

"Well Molly and I both love the place, and I knew you'd have a great selection of books for Molly to browse through." I smile at the small man brightly.

"Glad to know you two love the place! Where is the little tinker anyhow?" James asks and I smile at his little nickname for Molly.

"I suspect she's in the reading area again. Come say hi, she's not stopped talking about you all week. You really saved her by finding that book." James nods in agreement and we walk side by side towards the reading area. Just like last week, we find her sitting in the blue bean bag chair, reading a small book.

"Hey Molly, good to see you again!" James calls out to Molly and she lifts her gaze from the book and towards the pair of us. Her face lightens as she spots James. She lifts herself off of the bean bag chair and skips towards us.

"Mr James! It's very good seeing you again too!" Molly replies with a cheesy grin plastered onto her face.

"You know,  you don't have to keep calling me mister. We're friends now Molly, you can call me James." James crouches down to her height and I can't help but feel my heart swell. The way he is with her, it makes me wonder about a lot of things. Molly giggles and takes James by his hand, dragging him away to one of the small tables. They both sit down next to each other on the small plastic table.

"Come on daddy!" I laugh breathlessly and walk towards them, and join them on the table.

"So James, since we are now friends, I think daddy and I deserve to know a little more about you!" Molly inquires and her intellectual way of speaking makes James and I grin.

"Okay then Molly, what would you like to know? " He asks playfully. It makes me so happy how he is with her, it makes me wonder what it would be like if...

"What's your full name?"

"James Moriarty"

"Hmmm interesting. Mo..ria..ty. that is a peculiar last name James." James grins at that.

"Yes I know Molly Holmes."

"Okay next question. How old are You? "

"I am 26"

"You're just 2 years younger than Daddy!" I roll my eyes as Molly just revealed my age to him. James just laughs playfully, at my eye rolling.

"Do you fall in love with girls or Boys? " My eyes go wide when Molly asks such a personal question...Although I would like to know the answer. Jim surprisingly isn't fazed by the question and seems happy to reply.

"Well Molly, I tend to fall in love with boys." James replies and my heart pace quickens. I fantasise of different scenarios that could happen but they're all too ridiculous to say. I notice out of the corner of James' eyes that he looks at me when he replies. Is he implying something?

"My daddy falls in love with girls and boys" Molly decides to add and a blush rises to my cheeks. James' gaze falls upon me and I become very embarrassed and it's all pretty awful. I cough awkwardly.

"I think that's enough questions for today Molly, don't you?" I send Molly a warning glare but she just smiles cheekily back at me. Sometimes I think that she can read my mind, and this time she decided to act upon it.

Molly ended up going back to her bean bag chair and continued reading her book. James and I on the other hand stayed at the table.

"If it's not too rude to ask...where is Molly's mother?" James asks me quietly and I contemplate on whether or not I should tell him. It's just so personal, but he makes both Molly and I so happy that I want him to be closer to us.

"My ex girlfriend Irene abandoned us. You see she was having an affair and she decided to run off with him. That was 2 years ago now.  Molly sometimes asks where she is, but I don't think I'm strong enough to tell her that her mum abandoned her." I say and James stares at me with a worried and caring face. I'm glad that I told him. I believe that it brought us closer together.

"That sucks. I'm really sorry. You and Molly don't deserve that." He replies and it makes my heart swell as to how affectionate he is. I don't get out that often, and Molly being my top priority, I don't really have time for friendship, but I believe that James and I can become great friends, and that makes me smile.

__________________________________

We spent a couple of hours inside the bookshop. Molly managed to read through 4 books, and James and I got to know each other a lot better. He's a sweet man, and he fantasises just like Molly and I. He's loving and affectionate, and slowly but surely I found myself falling for him. He's an amazing guy, and he's amazing with Molly, so I believe that I should take this chance, and do something for myself for once.

"It's time to go Molly!" I shout across the bookshop to grab Molly's attention.  She picked a couple of books this time for me to buy her: all of them Michael Morpurgo. I'm just scared of the day she reads all of his books and has to find a new author to enjoy. Perhaps I should get her into the Harry Potter books when she is slightly older?

Molly walks towards me, a stack of books in her hands. I take the books off of her, and we walk hand in hand towards the till. James goes behind the till and I give him the money for the books. He places the books in a small cardboard bag, and hands it over to me.

"Until next time." James says with a sad smile on his face. It must be lonely in a job like this, with not that many staff. Lonely like me.

"Hey, how would you like to join us for dinner next week?" I ask and Molly squeals in excitement. James' eyes brighten at the offer and he nods his head in agreement. "Well, here's my number, and I'll text you the address." I write down my number on a small ripped piece of paper, and I hand it over to the Irish man.  He beams with happiness, and I can't help but smile in return.

"We'll see you for dinner then James." I say quietly and flirtily, biting my bottom lip. James seems to get the jist of the fact that this isn't just a friendly dinner, and he bites his lip too in anticipation.

I lift Molly off of the ground and onto my back, and like last week we leave the bookshop, accept this time, I have a date.
