Knights of Grace

Chapter 1

Having to sit through classes about how to handle battle equipment made Annalise want to slam her head on the wall. She was never big on learning about armor and weapons that will be used for the uprising war. To Annalise, she was into the training sessions she has to go through which is her favorite part of being a knight.

She has always wanted to be a knight like her older brother, Killian, and her father. Anna's father died a year after she was born. Her mother was killed during an attack, about 7 years ago, by an enemy kingdom. Later that year, that enemy kingdom was burnt to the ground by the Knights of Slavackia. Since then it was Anna, Killan and her little sister, Octavia who was only 3 years old. They were all happy until her brother joined in the army to help his sisters with money. He stayed in the army for 2 years until an attack by the Kingdom, Voltorez, took Killian as hostage and killed him.

It has been a year since then. Octavia now lives her cousins, while Annalise has to live in the castle as a knight. She was an excellent student over the years, learning everything she can in order to get into the army and fight in the war.

Being brought out of her head, Annalise looks around and notice how bored everyone is looking. After about 20 more minutes of the class, everyone was dismissed to get ready for dinner. Anna walks out of the stone-walled room, into the corridor and heads towards the Knight's quarters. As she walks, she notices the stares from the male knights. She guessed it was because there are rarely any females willing to join to fight. Annalise had always thought it was pathetic to see girls who do nothing other than show off their bodies to older men, just to earn some cash. They have no idea what it means to be able to help your country and to help keep every citizen safe from enemies.

Reaching her room which she shares with her friend, Keiko, she goes in and finds Keiko eating a plate of ribs. Knowing Koko, it will be gone by the time she asks for a piece. Letting out a small laugh, she walks past Koko and into the bathroom. Leaning into the mirror, she looks at her features, comparing them to Keiko's.

Annalise is a blonde with hazel eyes, Keiko has a dark brownish- blackish hair color with blue eyes. Anna found Koko's eyes to be beautiful compared to her hazel colored ones. Anna has her hair down to her lower back while Koko's hair is down to her mid back. Her body was slim, similar to Koko's but she, herself had a bigger bust than Koko.

A knock was heard from the main door. Opening the bathroom door and peeking through the doorway she sees Koko talking to someone with the front door open. She steps out of the bathroom and walks towards Koko and whoever she is talking too.

"Aye, Koko who is at the door?" Anna questioned while making her way over to her. Keiko turns and smiles, "Its just Riven, he wanted to see if we want to hangout after dinner. I already told him 'yeah' and to wait while we eat." By the time she finished talking, the front door was closed and she was walking into her bedroom to look for an outfit. Anna shook her head, knowing her too well that Koko wasn't going to pass up a deal to go and hangout with friends like an ordinary girl.

While Annalise went to her room, Keiko was digging through her dresser for an outfit. She pulled out a long sleeved simple brown shirt and slipped it on, over her white laced tank top. She dug through her dresser again for a pair of jeans, grabbing a black pair with diamonds along the sides of the jeans. Keiko stood up and ran into Annalise's room, finding Anna in a pure white sweater dress. Giving her her approval, they walked out their quarter and went down the corridor till they got to the dining room where every knight sat to eat.

Anna looked around noticing two heads, one red and the other white. With Koko next to her, they walked towards them. She sat down across from the red head and next to the white haired boy. Koko sat on her other side, teasing Riven. The white haired boy, Keynon, turned towards her "Anna, is Baron coming for dinner? He is usually the first one at the table."

Annalise shrugs, "I'll check on him, save me some food before Riv steals all of it." She points to the red haired, pig. "He'll eat all the food once it appears. Then me and Baron are going to have to beat him for it." Keynon lets out a snicker, making Riv look over at them with a huge grin.

Standing up, Anna flipped Riven off before walking away while doing so, she heard Riv shouting at her. All the shouting decreased the further she got from their table. She couldn't hold back her laughter as she walked down the hall. It was decorated with a dark crimson colored carpet and the walls were too but the carpet had gold trimmings. She got to the end of the hallway and turned left and went to the first door, knocking on it. Hearing nothing, she walks in and closes the door behind herself.

"Baron, everyone is waiting for you in the dining room." Anna inquired as she walked over to his room. She went in and looked around for him. "Baron?" She jumped when she heard the bathroom door opening, finding Baron with only shorts on. She wasn't sure what came over herself but she couldn't help but to gaze at him. His sculpted chest made her eyes scan over it. Realizing what she was doing, she blushed and turned around. "S-sorry Baron! I-i didn't know..." Anna blushed and tried to hide it, but knew it was useless since she heard him laughing.

"Well.. It's nice to see you too, Annalise" He purred with a seductive voice. She felt his hand on her chin turning her towards him. Her blush grew brighter, she knew automatically that he was trying to use his charms and looks to get to her. She tried hard to not fall into his grasps, but failed. To her, he was her knight in shining armor. Even if he is a huge flirt to all the girls, other than Koko.

"Aren't you going to apologize, my sweet Anna~? You know it's rude to barg into a guys room, especially if they just got out of a steamy shower. Maybe next time you can join?" He gave her a smirk, making her fall deeper in his hands. She was his best friend but she had a crush on the flirt. What can she say? He was sexy, even with his flirty side.
