You press your back up against a large tree trunk, and try to catch your breath and reload. You're part of the Rebel band that's getting the Death Star plans off Scarif. You're on the ground while Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and K-2SO are getting the plans at the citadel.

Everything is going terribly, terribly wrong though. You were originally stationed in a ship with Bodhi Rook.  But he told you that he had everything under control and that he wanted you to go with Chirrut Îmwe and Baze Malbus. You agreed and followed Chirrut and Baze. During the battle, you were split apart from Chirrut and Baze. You were about to go back to the ship with Bodhi when it exploded before your eyes, killing Bodhi. Devastated at the death of your new friend, you ran, more desperate and frantic in your search for Baze and Chirrut. And that's when you came across their bodies laying on the sand. You barely had time to see if they were dead before you were getting shot at.
You took off into the forest, and you're now hidden behind a tree, shaken to the core.

A T-47 Airspeeder lands on the sand in front of you. Two Rebel soldiers get out and join the fight against the Empire, leaving the T-47 behind. You stare at the ship just as the ground rumbles violently beneath your feet. You fall to the sand and look up.

"No." You gasp in horror as you see a beam shooting from the sky a couple of miles ahead of you. You see the destruction looming horrendously. The Death Star has fired its deadly super weapon.

"No." You whisper, before scrambling to the T-47. You jump into the T-47, your heart pounding crazily. You press your comlink.

"Cassian? Cassian, are you there?!" You exclaim. There's static on the other end. "Cassian!" You cry frantically.

Cassian is your best friend. You also have strong feelings for him. You believe he started to have feelings for you too until the Rebels captured Jyn Erso. That's when things started to change between Cassian and you. It doesn't bother you as much as you thought it would though. You're hurt that Cassian doesn't have feelings for you, but you're glad that at least someone is able to make him happy—even if that someone isn't you.

"Oh, please, Cassian, I can't lose you too." You whisper, your voice cracking. There's still no answer on the comlink. You start up the ship and then take off flying towards the citadel.

"Y/N!" A voice says over the comlink.

"Cassian!" You exclaim with relief. "Where are you?" You ask.

"Jyn and I are headed onto the beach. K-2 is dead." He says. His voice is tight and it sounds like he's in pain.

"Are you hurt?" You ask worriedly.

"I'm fine." Cassian mumbles. "Where's Bodhi? We need to get out of here." He states.

Your breath hitches in your throat. "Bodhi's gone. So is Baze and Chirrut." You choke out.

      "Oh, Y/N..." Cassian whispers.

You clear your throat. "I'm in a Rebel T-47 Airspeeder. This ship is the only way off Scarif." You claim.

"Jyn and I are onto the beach now, Y/N." Cassian states.

You crane your neck to look out the window and see them. "I've got you." You say, turning the ship towards them.

You quickly land the ship and jump out. The destruction is coming closer and there's not a lot of time before it reaches you.

Jyn and Cassian are holding each other tightly, and Cassian looks like he's in pain. You run over to them and put a hand on Cassian's arm.

"Are you all right?" You question worriedly, searching his dark eyes. He nods and gives you a small smile.

"Did you get the Death Star plans?" You question.

"We got them and sent them to the Rebellion." Jyn answers proudly. You sigh, relieved.

"We must hurry. We're all going to die if we don't get out of here." You say, going around to the other side of Cassian. Jyn and you quickly lead him to the T-47. You look at the Death Star rays that are coming closer, and gulp.

"This-this ship only has room for two people." Cassian states, before turning to look at you. Jyn stares at you.

You take a deep breath to calm your nervousness and fear. "I know. And that's why I've decided to stay here on Scarif." You admit, your voice shaking. Tears start to pool in your eyes and you rapidly blink them away.

"Y/N, no! No, no, no, I can't let you do this!" Cassian protests desperately.

Jyn shakes her head. "There has to be another way." She murmurs.

"There isn't, okay?" You say. "This ship holds two people—you two. I was never meant to go back to Yavin 4. I was never meant to leave Scarif. I know that now. My destiny was intended for this moment—to save the heroes that helped saved the Galaxy from the Death Star." You choke out, tears now unabashedly coming to your eyes.

"I will stay on Scarif." Jyn proclaims suddenly.

"No!" Cassian and you both exclaim. Cassian holds Jyn a little more protectively and your heart twists painfully. He looks at her, his eyes bursting with love. You clench your jaw and look away.

"I will stay on Scarif. I'm injured. It's okay." He says softly, more to her than you.

You look up at him and grab his arm. "No." You protest firmly. He looks at you pleadingly. "You will both leave. And you will both leave now. If you don't, we'll all die here and two lives will be wasted." You say. "Please leave. I'm begging you to go." You plead. Jyn and Cassian look at each other unsurely.

You take a deep breath and say the words you never thought would come out of your mouth. "Cassian, Jyn... You belong together. If I was to be selfish and make one of you stay here instead of me, I'd never live with myself. That's why you both must go. Live a happy life. Protect the Rebellion. Protect each other. Live well and love strong." You whisper. Jyn's and Cassian's eyes fill with tears. You look at the rays which are too close for comfort.

"Go now!" You exclaim, your heart breaking. You push them to the ship. "You must leave." You say, just as Cassian and Jyn embrace you.

      "Thank you." Cassian whispers.

"Thank you so much." Jyn adds.

"Go!" You cry, pushing away from them. You back away from them as tears stream down your cheeks. Jyn helps Cassian into the ship and then she gets settled in her seat. Cassian stares at you and you give him a smile and then a salute, appearing braver than you feel. Jyn and Cassian quickly fly off.

You watch to make sure they're safely gone and then you collapse onto the sand with a sob.  You stare at the rays which are quickly making their way across the water. You pull your knees to your chest and wrap your arms around them. You rest your forehead on your knees and squeeze your eyes shut.

"Cassian Andor... I love you." You whisper, before you're completely consumed by the rays.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
