Another mundane day at school.
Honestly with all the bs that gets talked about in church you would think that if God was our lord and saviour, wouldn't he save us from school?RRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG
"Finally!" Charli sighs, rising from her seat.
"You would think that after nearly a year dealing with Mr Noel in English I would be used to his monotone. Nope. Still boring as ever." I tell her.
"What do you have next?" She asks.
"Uh, What day is it today?" I ask, legitimately unaware.
Snorting she replies, "It's Tuesday, Abi,"
"Then I think I have textiles and design. Thank god! Mrs Marcus is soo nice," I say. I'm relieved. After print English working on my new dress design ought to make my day better.
We walk out into the crowded corridor and I run into Jack. Like literally run into him. I fall in slow motion before strong arms catch me.
"Woah there Abi, sorry didn't see ya coming," he greets me, after giving Charli a peck on the cheek. Yup. Just another boring day at school. Thank god for fun lessons like textiles.
"Thanks Jack, I have to run sorry guys," I say running off after blowing Charli a kiss. Mrs Marcus would kill me if I was late. Sure she's nice and all but cannot abide people being late to class. I burst through the door just as the bell rings. On time. Just.
Mrs Marcus glances over at me, her grey eyes sparkling with, was that admiration? I shrug to myself and start looking at the finalisations I have to make before I can finish my dress. Lots to do. At least I have no one to distract me in this class.
Grabbing some black thread and a needle from the shelf I run back to my desk to stitch on some more sequins. I am so accustomed to doing this simple task my mind begins to drift.
Why does Christianity have to be so strict, and teachers too, like did someone decide that all teachers have to be mean or else they get fired? I wonder when the last time we had a fire drill was? Do drill sergeants have to be mean as well? What do you do in the army other than fight? Last night was funny when I fought izzy for that last slice of pizza. Mmmm pizza. I could go for a slice. When's lunch? How long are these periods honestly when do I get my fooooooooooood!?
"Um excuse me, Abigail?" A voice says from behind me. Startled I turn around quickly my arms flying wildly in FROM of me one still holding the needle that somehow embeds itself into my teachers lip.
"Mrs Marcus! Holy crap I'm so sorry. Crap crap crap im ever so sorry Miss. Uh look on the bright side now you don't have to worry about paying money to get your lip pierced." I ramble on about lip piercing prices and how sorry I am when she holds up a thin hand and gently pulls out the needle from her lip. A thin line of red runs down her chin threatening to drop to the carpet below us. She reaches for a tissue from the box behind me. Registering what she is doing I quickly try to get one myself for her to save her the trouble.
"No miss let me, please..." I say as I turn around to grab one. After getting one I stupidly spin back around to give it to her, knocking her in the head and sending her frail frame to the ground. I squeeze my eyes shut trying to make it all a bad dream but I hear a deathly crunch and open my eyes to see that her head has connected to the leg of a chair and she has been knocked out cold.
"SHIT GET THE NURSE SOMEONE HELP!" I yell to my classmates who are sitting and staring at me like I am an animal at the Zoo. A girl named Sarah quickly comes to her senses and runs out of the room while I stand above the body of my favourite teacher.
The only questions I am asking myself now are will she be ok? And oh my fucking lord what will my parents say!?
I am definatly in for a treat when I get home.
