A Different Race To The Edge (Part 1)

"Ahhh we're gonna die!" Tuff wailed.
Everyone lost their footing and started falling. Thankfully, Snotlout grabbed a pole.

"Fishlegs! Grab my foot!" He called. Fishlegs did so and everyone else did the same.

"We're gonna live after all!" Tuff cheered.

Astrid was unable to hold on though and lost her grip on Tuff's hand.

When Hiccup saw this, he panicked. "NO! ASTRID!" He started flying towards the water. When he got there she had been fighting off eels. He shot a plasma blast at them and reached his hand out for Astrid.

When thet got back to the boat, Hiccup jumped off Toothless and helped her off.

"Oh my gods! Are you ok, Astrid?" He asked hurriedly while hugging her tightly.

"I'm fine Hiccup don't worry." She pulled out of his grasp and smiled at him. He smiled back and kissed her forehead.

Then SOMEONE had to interrupt. "Well, personally I think Johann could've warned us about the giant eels!" Snotlout screamed in his normal dramatic vioce.

"Calm down Snotlout. The dragons will come back. For now we find and gather Johann's treasure. And please, for the love of Thor, be quiet." Hiccup said.

Snotlout stomps away and Hiccup sighed. "Some things never change." He said quietly. He turned his gaze and saw a parculiar ship.

"Hey, Astrid, do you see that ship over there?" He pionted.

"Yeah. Why?"

"If I had to guessn I would say that'd be the Reaper." He told her.

"Ok that explains that. Now why are you looking at it so intently? Ya know what, that was a stupid question. You're thinking of checking it out. Aren't you?" She looked at him and his face gave her the confirmation she needed. She just sighed and looked at him again. "Just promise me you'll be careful. A ship covered in traps from stem to stern is bound to be dangerous."

"I will. But like you said, 'covered in traps from stem to stern,' why would it need those traps? I'm thinking, 'What could be on there that they would wanna protect so profusly?'" He turned back to her and gave her a short but passionate kiss. He pulled away, hopped on Toothless and flew to the ship. Astrid watched him land before going her own way.

(Now we see the others and Hiccup in this next scene but no Astrid. So this is what happenes to Astrid.)

She walked on to one of the boats. She started looking around for anything suspicious. But the problem was, she couldn't find anything.

"Huh. Nothing. That's wierd. We should've found SOMETHING by now. Hmm mayb-mmmgh!" Her mouth was clamped shut by a big hand. The person behind her then tied her hands.  Then they turned her around in their grasp and she gasped when she saw who it was.

"Hello, blondie."

"Dagur." She said venomously.

"Did you miss me. And what about brother Hiccup? Did he miss me too?" He laughed maniacly.

"What do you want, Dagur?" She hissed.

"Tell me where the Night Fury is." He said in a dark vioce.

She just glared at him and said, "No. I'll NEVER tell you where Toothless is."

"Hmm suit yourself. He turned to a man behind him and nodded. The man came up and started beating Astrid.

She fell to the ground in pain and he started kicking her. She was now coughing up blood. Oncw the man stopped, Astrid lay there for a minute before using all the stength she could muster to stand up.

Dugur grabbed her and threw her in a cage. She groaned in pain before struggling to her feet.
She waited there for about half an hour before she saw the others. They were being dragged by some more gaurds. She moved out of the way as they were thrown in.

"You guys all right?" She asked.

"Yeah, we're fine bu- what's that on your face?" Fishlegs asked her.

Astrid knew what it was but didn't want to worry anybody. So she chose to try and lie. "Mud. I fell into a hole in one of the boats and my face fell into mud." That was lame but hey, it was worth a shot.

"That doesn't look like mud, Astrid. That looks like a bruise."

Shit. She knew it wouldn't work. Oh well now she has to tell the truth. "I was searching one of the ships and Dagur snuck up on me. He tried to get me to tell him where Toothless was. When I didn't tell him, he ordered one of his men to beat me. So yeah." She explained.

"Are you ok. Do you think he broke anything?" Fishlegs asked hurriedly.

"Probably broke one or two ribs but I'll live. I've lived through worse." She wasn't about to tell them she has lived in an abusive home, but it was true she had lived through worse even though they didn't know it.

All of a sudden they heard a loud BANG. Then they heard Dagur say,

"Hiccup, I've missed you. I've thought about every single day. Oh! And lookie what I have." He stepped aside to reveal the other dragon riders.

(Back to Hiccup and Dagur)

Astrid walks up to the poles.

"ASTRID!" Hiccup shouted.

"So, am I right to think that you and blondie have 'hopped on the same dragon'?" Everyone knew what he meant by that.

Hiccup just growled. "Let. Them. Go. This is between me and you, Dagur. Now let them go."

"Now now, Hiccup. Which one of us has the crossbow to their friends. Me." He turned to one of his men and ordered them to piont the crossbow at Astrid.

"Now, since I'm in control I'll also take what you're hiding behind you."   Hiccup, having no other chioce, handed the cylinder thing to Dagur.

"Alright men! We've got all the gold! Now let's get out of here!" They walked to the edge of the ship and lowered themselves into a row boat. Once they were gone, Hiccup  ran over to the riders were in. He immidiatly saw Astrid's fance and held it gently but roughly.

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!!!!!" He shouted.

"One of Dagur's men beat me up. I'm fine. You know I've lived through worse." She told him gently.

"That doesn't change the fact that I should've gone with you." He swiped some of her bangs out of her face.

"Hiccup, you can't protect me 24/7. Even if you COULD I wouldn't want you to. I can defend myself. This was just an accident. It's not the first time and I can garentee it won't be the last. Now. Now that we have tht cleared up, you need to go after Dagur."

"Bu-,"

"Ahhh no 'buts'. Go, we'll be fine!" She gave him the look that told him not to argue.

He kissed her quikly then hopped on Toothless and ew after Dagur. Dagur shot a boulder at Hiccup, but he avioded it. Then, he realised where it was actuallyy aimed for. By the time he caught on, it was to late. The boulder collided with the Reaper.

"Oh shit." He said under his breath. Then he raced Toothless over to the ship.

Uum don't know if it's just me, but I feel as if this story is kinda turning into a soap opera with all this kissing. Haha oh well. I actually like soaps. Except for the cheesy part.
