Sound of a crashing cup. Blood all over the floor. All over my feet. The scream was deafening. It was me screaming. I could make that out.
"Shit"
I tried to look up and figure out where I was. It seemed as if I saw looking at it from a third person's point of view.
But then, the whole room started fading away. The world fading away.
I heard someone calling my name. Scratch that. Shouting my name. Someone with a blurred face. A beautiful, yet blurred face. Someone with blue grey eyes. Hypnotising eyes.
Suddenly everything started shaking. Each broken piece of the cup was shaking.
"Brieee.. Baby, talk to me. Oh God, it has been six months sweetheart. Can you hear what I am saying? Brie? Sweetie? Talk to me."
I recovered from the reverie that I was having. My eyes were trying hard to focus. When my senses started kicking in, I realised someone was shaking me. But this time, it was someone different. Someone with green eyes. Someone with dark blonde hair. Just like me. That someone was my mom. She was shaking my senses back to reality.
But that voice. That voice that I heard back there, it was not her voice. It was deep, manly and very intimidating. Those blue eyes with a hint of grey around the corners were still giving me shivers. Good kind of shivers. How can someone have such beautiful eyes? The masculine smell is still lingering around my nose.
I cut my thoughts and started focusing on what was in front of me.
"Mom, I am alright. How can you forget about this cup? I told you I have these headaches when I see this particular coffee mug. And I had placed it behind all the cups and still you managed to bring it in front of me. Please take it away from my sight", I said, frowning at her and pinching my temples.
That's when she realised what happened, and immediately took away the cup from me and hid deep inside the cupboard. I could see the corners of her eyes getting wet. Oh God, I was being so harsh on her, and I didn't even realize that.
"I am so sorry, sweetie. I totally forgot about it. I broke the new mug, and absentmindedly picked this one up. I swear you won't see it ever again. If you want, I can throw it away.", she said caressing my arms.
"No. Don't throw it away. That's the only thing that connects me and her. Just keep it somewhere away from me, but please don't throw it away"
She gave an assuring smile and started picking up the plates. I nodded at her and got up from the dining table. We were having our breakfast together after weeks, and this HAD to happen. Crispy bacons and fried eggs, half eaten was still there on my plate. On any other day, I would have been skillfully emptying it into my stomach. But today, I just lost my appetite. My father smiled at me, and squeezing my arm, he got up with his plate and started walking towards mom. He stood by her side and put his arm around her shoulder to calm her.
