Looking up Riley is met with a sight of dark looming clouds covering the sky, a sky that once was a beautiful sight of clear blue contentment- skies filled with pure white blissful clouds reminding her of  drool worthy sweet cotton candy- and that's when Riley realizes where she was. The forest.

The forest where Riley once enjoyed having adventures of imaginary fairies flying through the tree branches with their mystical transparent wings, trilling and blood pumping pirate sword fights around tree trunks, and the peaceful picnic's with her mother where they lay on the fresh grass, looking up to the sky finding pictures in the clouds. Pictures like a pig flying, smoking elephants even to seven legged crocodiles. A place where her imagination  could ran wild, have fun adventures and enjoy nature at it's best.

But no, this wasn't that childhood dream anymore, it wasn't that forest anymore.

Because things changed....

As you might know, nothing stays the same and so this once wonderful dream and memory became Riley's worst nightmare.

And that's when realization kicked in, it's starting.

The nightmare.

Every night it all starts the same...

With a gust of wind, thunderous clouds bearing lighting flashes overthrew the once clear sky.

Riley stood confused as she looked up at the midnight sky and then.... she started running in the moonlight, below the dark canopy of the trees surrounding her, the leaves crunched beneath her feet as thunderous flashes of light displayed itself across the horizon of the midnight sky.

The faster she ran, the more the chilly wind picked up.Letting her braided hair snap loose from it's hair band revealing her long, silky hazelnut hair as it flows through wind.

She realized that she wasn't alone in the forest, but in fact, being watched.
She stopped in her tracks and calmed her breathing.

Afraid for her life, she slowly turned around, only to see a pair of glossy red eyes peeping through the bushes solemnly staring straight at her.

Instinctual, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her, or at least until they gave up.

As she ran through the forest, dodging tree branches, she accidentally tripped over a stone, falling face first into the forest floor.

Groaning, she turned onto her back, dusting off her hands from the fall.

With alert hearing, she realized that the monster was chasing her, and before she could do anything, it leaped onto her.

And just before she blacked out she heard someone talking faintly. It wasn't long before screams pierced the dark silence, and there was blood...Everywhere.

Startled, she jolted awake. Her hair was plastered to her skin, which was clammy from fear.

She slowly rose from her bed, knowing that it was once again just a nightmare.

Just a nightmare you would say... but no, this nightmare haunted her for years..

Setting her feet onto the floor, she bent down and placed her elbows onto her knees and wiped the sleep out of her eyes.

"What another great way to start the day?" She said to herself, her voice laced with a blatant sarcasm.
