Julie's pov
It was the 21st September 1999. I was being rushed into the hospital. I was pregnant and was about to give birth. I couldn't believe it. Things are going the I was going to see my little bundle of joy anytime soon. I couldn't wait. My husband, Mike, was panicking. I mean, this is the second time he was going to be a dad. He was very supportive over the last 9 months I was pregnant. When my water broke, he rushed me to the car and drove like his life deepened on it. When I got into the hospital room, I saw vaguely another baby, so I guess another woman gave birth, so the nurses started my procedure. I was pushing and pushing and pushing so hard that I couldn't handle it anymore. But I had my Mom and mother – in – law on my side whilst Mike, my dad, my father – in – law, basically everyone was here but waiting outside. I was really very nervous. I couldn't take it anymore, I was feeling tired of all the pushing but having both moms by my side gave me the strength and confidence, so it is all good.

After a the long wait and pushing I finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I finally sighed in relief. I put my head back and was so happy that I was done. When the baby was making no noise, like it is supposed to, I started to worry. The doctors and nurses faces looked at me shockingly.
'What wrong doctor?' I asked nervously.
'Well, the baby is making no noise. The minute the baby born, they are supposed to make noise, well they are supposed to be crying. I don't know why your baby is not crying. I am worried like you are.' The doctor replied. I started to tear up. I looked at my Mom and then to my mother – in – law. They were crying as well. Just when all my fears were going to have a mental breakdown, I heard little breathing noises and then a sound of someone crying. It came from the arm of the nurse who was holding my baby. I looked up at the baby. It was moving and crying.
'It's a miracle.' My mom says. I can't believe what just happened. It's like someone cast an evil spell on us and then a good spell was just released. My mom ran out of the room and told everyone not to worry as the baby is here. Mike ran in as fast as possible. Then the rest of the family gathered. I could see the happiness on their faces. It made me happy too see them happy, that's all I want.

Shania's pov
I was 7 years old already, I can't believe it. But I am still a kid, I have a lot of things I need to learn, a lot of things I need to see. Mommy and daddy say I am still a little girl. When I woke up, I looked at the time and it was 9:45am. It was Saturday, so I got to lay in. I went into the bathroom and then my mom came in to give me a shower.
'Good morning beautiful.' My mom said.
'Good morning mommy.' I said with a big smile on my face. I started to take my clothes of. My mom started the tap. When the water was warm enough, my Mom started to give me the shower, I had to wash my hair as well, which I hated as the shampoo gets into my eyes, to which I cry and my mom starts to panic.
Me and my mom went downstairs and found my dad making food. It smelled really nice. It smells like pancakes. I then found out that my dad was actually making pancakes as there was syrup, chocolate, whipped cream and strawberries on the counter thingy next to him.
'Daddy...' I say with a lot of happiness and ran up into his arms. He was happy to see me.
'Good morning baby girl...how are you?' He replied.
'I am good daddy...how about you?' I asked.
'I am very well thank you. Look, I am making your favourite...pancakes.' My dad says as he shows me what he is making.
'I could smell them when I walked into the kitchen. Have you finished making them daddy?' I asked.
'Oh dear, it was supposed to be a surprise, but don't worry. And yes darling I have finished them. Let's all work together to put everything on the table.' He said. My dad put me down and then I helped them put the things on the table. But before we did that, there was a knock on the door. My Mom went to answer it. I heard loud laughs and talking.
It was my grandmother, my dads Mom. I don't really like her. She was always selfish and always talked like she owned the place. She never really liked me anyways. When she came into the kitchen, she looked at me whilst I was giving her the evil looks.
'Hello dear, how are you?' She said. I just looked away and continued to put the stuff on the table.
'Shania...don't be rude. Say hello to your grandmother.' My dad said.
'Yeah...like I am going to do that.' I said and then walked away. I went straight to my room, hungry. I can't believe she is here. I wish she would just go away.

Mike's pov
'Honey have you seen Shania? I asked Julie. I was worried.
'No, the last time I saw her was when mom got here and went back up to her room.' Julie replies.
'Oh, I went into her room to give her food as she hadn't eaten but I didn't find her in there, I have checked everywhere but can't find her.' I added.
'Come to think of it, I haven't seen Mom since she got here.' Julie says.
'She went to do some shopping.' I said.
'For 5 hours? What shopping must she be doing for 5 hours?' Julie looked and sounded shocked. She also had a look on her face which you could tell Julie don't like my mom.
'Jules, is everything ok? You seem really worried and full of hatred ever since my mom got here.' I asked her.
She was really worried and it also made me worry twice as much. She looked at me and then looked back at the food. I was going back out to look for Shania but I just had to know what was on Julie's mind. We never really had any secrets between us in all our married lives. But she was definitely hiding something from me, I know it. So I have to find out what she is hiding and how to handle it when she tells me.
