I like Nathans office. It suits him. The red chair infront of his desk. The dark sleek wooden desk. The book shelves in the corner, filled to the brim with novels. Mystery novels.

"You read mysteries?"

I looked at him.

"Not really. I don't have any books here."

"Well thats to bad. I could lend you some if you'd like."

A smile.

"I'd love that. Thank you."

I sat down in the plush red chair again. He sat across. We looked at each other.

"How are you feeling today?"

"Good."

"Thats good. How were you last night? How did you feel after you took the pill?"

"Good, it helped me sleep. I liked that."

"I'm glad, will you keep taking the pills?"

Lie.

No.

"Probably."

"Thats better then no."

A smile.

"So what would you like to talk about?"

Confusion.

"What do you mean? Don't you have to ask me questions?"

"I could, but we could also just talk if you would like."

"I'd like to talk."

"Alright. Lets talk."

"Okay. Who are these friends you want me to meet?"

He smiled and leaned forward, placing his arms on the desk.

"They're some old friends from highschool. Mason, Naomi, Jo, and Tyler. You'll like them, they're really nice."

People don't typically like you, Jinx.

"People don't really like me."

"They will, trust me. They're really nice and accepting people."

"I hope they do. I'd like some new friends."

A smile. I've been getting a lot of smiles lately. It feels good.

"I'm your friend Jinx. Even if they aren't totally fond of you, which is basically impossible, you'll always have me."

I think I love Nathan.

No you don't.

I think I do.

"Thank you Nathan. I-I really like you. You're a lot better then my last doctor. He wasn't really social. He only talked to me about my pills. He ignored me a lot and I really felt lonely. So I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything you've done for me in just 2 days. Its more then what my old doctors accomplished in a month."

He got up. He came around the desk. I stood up. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt warm and fuzzy in his arms. He smelled like pine trees. I nuzzled my face into his neck, breathing in deeply. I felt safe and protected in his arms. He chuckled.

"You like my cologne?"

"Mmm yes."

He just held me tighter.

Jinx, what are you doing?! Stop! Whats wrong with you! This is wrong!

Stop Anna. We'll talk later.

No Jinx. This isn't right.

Anna. Stop.

Surprisinly she did.

I'm proud of myself.

Today, I told Nathan the truth.
