I thought this was kinda cute. and I just thought of it randomly so no judge.

"e-ethan." you said as tears poured out of your eyes even more.
you were hurt. your boyfriend had cheated on you and you were currently crying to your best friend, ethan. you shook and hugged him tighter. you were straddling him but it didn't mean anything because you two were always like this.
ethan was hurt too. he hated how you always ran back to your current ex-boyfriend. he could treat you better, so much better. but you always failed to realize. you failed to realized he loved you, he truly did.
"i-it h-hurts," you started to shake more so ethan pulled you even closer, "my h-heart, it hurts."
"i know, I know" he whispered. he started to stroke your hair which seemed to calm you. he moved his hand to stroke your back but you quickly shook your head and removed your hand from being wrapped around ethan to pull his hand back to your hair. he gently smiled into your hair.
"i can treat you better y/n, so much better, if you just let me." he said.
you didn't respond, you didn't know how. ethan felt hurt that you didn't but he was going to back down. this was his chance to make you his, he wasn't going to lose you again.
"i love you y/n, i always have. you haven't noticed it. but you know what i've noticed, i notice the way you smile at him when he looks at you, and how once he turns away it fades away. i notice how when you are with him and his friends you want to leave, you make up an excuse and leave. so i don't understand why you still stay with him. he hurts you too much. i can't watch anymore, i don't want to. please y/n, i can treat you better."
what he said was true, and you knew it. you can't get hurt anymore, you don't want to hurt ethan anymore too. he truly can treat you better.
you slowly kissed his neck. ethan shivered but stilled. you then kissed his jaw. from there you kissed his cheek. you then kissed the side of his soft lips. you rested your forehead on his. your eyes were opened while his were closed. he was hoping this wasn't all a dream. you kissed his nose and his eyes opened.
once you saw those beautiful brown eyes you knew this was right.
"i love you too."
