chapter 4

Kanekis pov

"Guess I should wake the girl up." I stood up and walked over to the girl's bedroom, and knocked. "Hey. Wake up today you start your learning sessions."

I heard a groan and a tired moan as I walked back to the couch. "Man. Am I not ready for this day.." I sighed and rubbed my head. "I hope nothing happens today.." I sigh again.

'What the hell is taking her?' I get up and walk to her room and knock again. "Hey, hurry up" I was about to knock again when she opened the door. "I'm ready alright sheesh. A girl can't ready for shit"

She closed her bedroom door and walked past me. "Hey. Kaneki, why is coffee here? I don't drink it" I walked to the kitchen and over to the counter top.

"It's kinda all that you can drink. Anything else, well you already know what it tastes like." I looked at her with a blank expression, as I leaned my head against my hand.

"Seriously? Oh.. well okay then.." I watched her pour her coffee in the cup and take a sip. "Oh wow! Kaneki, it's delicious!" Her face lit up with so much excitement as she drank more of the beverage.

"The heat of it and the texture is such a perfect mix!" I looked down and smiled a bit, I then noticed the time and stood up. "Ah, miski we have to go, it's getting late."

She set her cup in the sink and followed me. "Late? For what Kaneki? It's still early Moring" she giggled "we have to meet someone I hold dear to me. I think you two might just end up being friends. " She looked at me with a curious face. "Oh okay!" and smiled.

*time skip to Hideyoshi*

"Hey, Hideyoshi!" My friend's long blond hair blew in the wind as he looked at me, and smiled as he waved us over. "Kaneki, hey what's up man" he laughed and put his arm around my shoulder.

"How's your life going? I hardly see you anymore" he laughed. "Excuse me, but Kaneki. Might I ask who this young man is?" Miski. I forgot.

"Oh! Uhm Bokuto Miski, meet Nagachika Hideyoshi. The person I hold dear to me." Miski smiles "Very pleased to meet you. Nagachika" she bowed.

"Oh, just call me Hide, please. And it's nice to meet you too. I never knew Kaneki could get a lady friend like you, but as it turns out he can!" Hide nudged me. "Hide..." they both laughed at my flushed pink face. "L-Let's sit and chat, s-shall we?"

*A few moments later*

"So Miski did you know that Hide was all about books before his new life? Every time you saw the guy he was nose deep in a book!" "Hey, that's not true hide!"

I whined at Hide, as Miski giggled and laughed. "You two could be siblings, you act just like it." She laughed a small laugh. "He used to be so smitten with books, I'd have to buy his dinner sometimes if he didn't remember"

I blushed.  "Hide! Stop your embarrassing me..." I hid my face with my hands. i forgotten thay i was needed at the coffee shop around 5 or 6 and checked my watch real quick. "Oh god, It's already 6?! I should get back home. miski shall we go?" Hide looked at me and smiled.

"Wait, Hide it's not like that! Honest" "Oh sure it's not~ hehehe" I stood up and wobbled, causing Miski to giggle and Hide to laugh aloud. "Hide it was nice meeting you." Miski said as she stood up and bowed politely at him. we both started to depart until she turned around and faced hide.

"And please offer to text me more stories of clumsy kaneki over here" 'she giggled at me!' "Of course miski! I'm so glad I met you, let's all 3 hang out very soon!"

hide came up to us and hugged us both. Miski and I took our leave. "Hey, Kaneki... do you think you would ever turn on your friends at Antekiu? They did kinda take you in.." I stayed silent.

I wanted to spill what was going to happen. But I couldn't. "You know, I feel like I can be your friend, and be close. But, if you were to up and leave the cafe." she continued.

"I'd have no absolute choice... But to take revenge on your leave. And that is a vow. Kaneki if you ever decide to walk out on any of us at the shop. I promise you, I will never forgive you."

I froze. 'Touka never went this far... This new girl has a lot of fire in her, more then Touka!' I smirked. "And I vow next time you see me, that I will let you have revenge."

She laughed softly.. "is that so? Fine then.. it settled." I know I shouldn't have kept it from her, but I had no other choice... The CCG plans to evacuate this ward soon.. And I'm not strong enough to protect them all. 

"Well, this is my stop, Kaneki. Thank you for walking me home, I had a lot of fun today meeting your best friend hide. I hope to have a fun day again!" She gave me a big smile.

"As well as I. Goodnight Miski." We gave each other a short hug and parted ways. 'I vow that the next time I see you I'll take my revenge.'

So vengeance is the game she wants to play huh? In 3 months the 20th ward will be evacuated, and she'll be at Anteiku ready to fight. I'll be there, Waiting.

'I vow that next time I see you then, I'll let you have your revenge.' it's settled.

Let the waiting game start.
