A Million Roses

Introduction

The almighty rich boy Kim Jonghyun had a supreme power that he wasn't afraid to use. At age 17, it seemed like the whole world was his. His great grandfather owned a great Korean phone company, that was passed down generations to the first born son. Jonghyun, being the only son Mr. and Mrs. Kim had, he obviously would inherit the luxurious company. And because of this, Jonghyun's popularity skyrocketed. 

Being the school's most popular male was an easy and huge reputation to keep. It was questionable why the most popular students were always venomous and vicious, but that's how it worked. Social rank was unfair, but to Jonghyun, it was the correct way to rank humans. On top were the cruel and rich kids, a description and status Jonghyun fitted in well. Second were the Jocks and Cheerleaders. Third were the "normal" students. The students who weren't in the different sports programs or anything, and just lived their life normally like any person would. And at the bottom, was obviously the smart and studious kids, or what Jonghyun calls them all, "Smart Alecs."

The main problem with Jonghyun was the lack of happiness he dealt with. Why is it that the people with the most things can be the unhappiest people? It was a confusing question and he didn't have an answer to it. The problem of being unhappy began when Jonghyun and his parents had an appointment with Mr. Cho, or the principal of the whole school, stating Jonghyun was slacking with his classwork and might fail his last year of high school. His parents couldn't accept the fact because they expected their only son to be a brilliant individual and to be the top rank of his classes. Rumors spread around saying Jonghyun's parents paid the principal to give Jonghyun another shot with testing, but in reality, Jonghyun just got an attractive Noona tutor. Since then, Jonghyun faced unhappiness, but honestly, he had faced it since the day of birth.

Being the rich kid of the class only made people like you for what you've got. People forgot that you had values and became your friend for being able to afford nice things. Jonghyun couldn't seem to be familiarize himself to the situation. He was still clueless why some of his friends left him, thinking they left because of jealousy. The betrayal was somewhat a purpose why he was a bitter boy throughout the years. 

Questioning the unhappiness present in his life, he finally got an answer, but it was an answer that confused him a little.In one of Jonghyun's dreams, Jonghyun saw a light and the light talked to him. The light spoke to the naive male and gave it's words of wisdom. 

"Because you are so bitter and you do not love others, you are unhappy with everything. You do not see things the way you should. If you learn how to love, you will find serenity. Bloom a million of roses, and your happiness will come. To bloom one rose,  you must give love. Love's rose only blooms when affection and love is given. But, this love must be real. If the love isn't real, it would only result to torns that will perish your skin, leading to more depression."

After the dream, Jonghyun woke up, confused with the advice. How could such a male like him give love? He didn't know what sincere love was and how to show it. Should he really trust his fate based on one dream? Plus, how is it possible for a million roses to bloom? Pathetic is what he thought. Pathetic. He wasn't that much of a gullible person and therefore, he wouldn't believe the dream. But deep down somewhere, he wanted to believe it was the solution of happiness. It was a hard task, but life wasn't all about easy shortcuts. Working hard for something meant to devote your blood and tears into the work. Then again, was it possible to bloom all those roses? With such a cold and selfish heart, Jonghyun knew fully he couldn't love easily, but he was willing to do anything to be a happy person. The dream never lingered off his mind since then.
