Breathless, shattered.
Suffocating
It's back.

Cold sweat covered my face,
The nightmare was recurring.
Pulling the sheets off,
To void myself off of my misery

The usual fog that misted my life began its daily course.
School it was called.
The tables and chairs that provided aesthetics,
Were the reason I didn't progress.

Past the double doors to be welcomed by a kiss that tasted like smoke and aftershave.
"Hey baby" he said, little did he know I knew his dirty tricks.
Going along with the bitter truth of reality was my specialty.

Physics rather isn't my forte, but that's in the calling.
Rattling my cage of despondence,
Yet no one in the room to hear me.

The autumn sky outside wasn't providing the light,
To brighten the classroom filled with individuals ,
Or the disparity darker than my soul.

Disturbance wafted like a scent,
Screeching of tables and murmurs.
A visitor was present in the room,
For who was treated as a welcomed guest.

That was when I saw her.

"Let's welcome to Neya our class",

So that's what she was called.

Wore a smile brighter than anyone here,
Only to be greeted with blank faces that held nothing special.

"You can sit over there"
Her smile still hasn't wavered.

The burning sensation hasn't left,
The ember inside me was flaming with a heated passion.

Hey, I'm Lauren.
