3- new allies

i woke up confused. katniss was gone.
'she probably went to get food.' i thought.
i heard talking outside.
i thought about who it could be. most likely the careers.
i peeked out of the cave and saw katniss, thresh, cato, and clove.
a lot of thoughts ran through my head. are they all allies now? what are they doing? i was about to find out.

-katniss-
clove threw a knife into my arm.
"ah!" i yelled.
"you two are going to die. and loverboy's next." clove grabbed me by my sleeve while i was trying to forget the pain.
"oh great." i groaned.
i saw thresh grab clove by her shoulders.
"i should just leave." clove said and ran off into the trees. cato went after her.
"thanks." i told thresh.
"anytime. wanna be allies for a bit? after someone dies we split up." thresh suggested.
i thought of peeta. he was probably still asleep. by the time he woke up someone would be dead.
"sure." i smiled and we shook hands.
"let's go." thresh was already running after the careers.
i sprinted after him so i could keep up.

after about 20 minutes of running...
"i think we lost them." thresh said, still running and breathing heavily.
my hood got pulled back.
"i don't think so." cato replied.
i wondered how he did that. clove started attacking thresh while cato was holding his hands to my neck.
"bet you saw me kill the boy from three. you don't move. if you do, you're gonna end up like him." cato said.
i saw thresh take a knife from clove's hand and kill her with it. he stood up.
"you go on. i can do this myself." i told him.
"i'm not gonna leave you. becauss that's not what allies do." he replied.
