Scene: Tyler had just asked Troye to wait and listen to him, whilst they were both in the waiting room where Troye had just met some fans with backstage passes

«Troye»

But I couldn't wait. I ignored him and walked in.

"Tyler's here." I said to Emma. Her eyes widened.

"I... Well, why are you in here?" She almost yelled.

"I can't face him, Emma." I said. Emma pursed her lips at me and opened the door.

"Tyler!" She greeted.

"Miss Confetti!" He yelled back. I smiled at his name for her despite myself.

They chatted a little bit, then I heard two words I did not want hear.

"Come in!" In that moment I wanted to punch Emma.

"Um, I... Well, I'll leave you two alone." Emma said awkwardly, then she walked out onto the stage where the band were having drinks.

"Listen to me, please, Troye." His eyes were already brimming with tears.

"Sit down." I said, pointing to the chair opposite the one I sat down his. Tyler shuffled over.

"Troye, I know I made a massive mistake. You probably can't forgive me, and I'm not asking for forgiveness, I'm asking for you to hear me out."

*Trigger Warning*

"I realised I made a massive mistake in leaving you. Listen, Troye, you're such a great person but I thought I'd found someone better. I realise now that that's not possible. About two months ago, my new boyfriend Clay started seeming really distant. He'd go out every night and come back to have sex with me, but it was terrible because of the alcohol on his breath and the fact he kept calling me Austin. At first it was kind of funny, but then I realised he thought I was this Austin guy." Tyler stopped for a breath, the first bout of tears threatening to spill over. I wanted to cuddle him and trash talk his boyfriend- or old boyfriend- Clay with him all night.

"T-then Clay started coming home late and saying he was going away for work, even though Clay didn't have a job. H-he was cheating on me and was making it so obvious." Tyler was full on sobbing now.

"I tried to confront him on many occasions but h-he hit me." Tyler whispered.

"And again and again. It was becoming abnormal occurrence. H-he was abusing me, physically, verbally and mentally. I was hurting so much. I tried to leave but h-he did this..." Tyler turned around and showed me his back. There was bruising, and by the looks of it, stitches.

"He pushed me into the wall and I knocked a vase. He picked it up and smashed it on the ground. He kicked me and I accidentally fell onto a shard. He's in custody and I was in hospital for three days... Troye, I don't know what to do. He won't get out of jail anytime soon but I can't even get a new boyfriend because there's no one I can trust apart from the people I know. I'm so distraught... I just wish I'd never met him... he was so charming and now I just... I don't want to live anymore, Troye, it's too much."

I walked over to Tyler and put my arms around him. He let his head fall into my chest. His body was racked with sobs. I looked into his eyes.

"Tilly, I think you should go." I said, as much as I didn't want to.

He wiped his eyes.

He got up.

"Goodbye, Troye." He said.

He turned and left.

Then I had a thought.

What if he hurt himself? What if it got too much.

I had my hand poised in the door handle to go and run after him, but I then realised if Tyler got too depressed, he'd call me or his mum. He had too many reasons to live.

Then I realised what I'd done.

I'd told Tyler to leave. He'd told me his story from the last two months, and instead of understanding and inviting him to dinner, I told him to leave.

That's when I left the building.

I saw him leaving against his car, shaking violently. He opened the door to hop in.

"Tyler! Tyler, wait!" I yelled.

His head whipped around. I ran up to his car and basically pulled him out. He winced. I let go of him, immediately remember what Clay had done to his body to leave him this unstable.

"Come for pizza with Emma and I. Please?" I said.

He looked at me.

"Tyler, I know I told you to leave, but I want you to stay. You just would've gone home and not eaten and I can't have that Tilly, not when you're like this." I said.

"We can't be best friends again, but I need you to come for dinner." I pleaded. He bit his lip and walked back to the building. I took that as a yes.

"Troye, I've missed you."

"Me too." I took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Me too, Tilly."
