Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.

-Mahatma Gandhi

I stared down at the dead body in front of me. How could I do this. I should have been here for him.

"Oh,Kaleb",I said,as if he would respond. He'll never respond. He was eight and batting cancer. A battle now lost,he lied lifeless on a hospital bed. He died just when I came in. I remember doctors and nurses surrounding him,and then ten minutes later he was pronounced dead. His parents were devastated. I told him I'd come back to see him. Now a month later,a promise now broken,I come back too late. I was too busy running for my life. I should have died, not him. Doesn't matter any more, cause now we're both dead. I died on,inside years ago,and now poor Kaleb caught up,and died too,but physically.

I left out the room, and went to the bathroom, when I felt a stray tear roll down my face. I can't let anyone see me cry. It's a sign of weakness. I don't want people to see how weak I am. Not physically but mentally. I lost it a while ago. I can't let that happen again. It's not safe,I'll attract unwanted attention.

Why can't life be easy?

I stared in the mirror at my eyes, which didn't seem to not be able decide if they wanted to be blue or green.

I pulled myself together and left the bathroom after about ten minutes.

I was about to round the corner until I was met with a chest as hard as a wall.

"What the fu-",I didn't finish,I couldn't. His grey eyes were too mesmerizing."um-excuse me",I said. Then walked off. Then I was gently grabbed by my elbow.

"Wait",the stranger said. "I've been looking for you",he said,with a foreign accent.

"I don't know you",I said. He looked at me funny.

"You sure about that",he said,I nodded. "I'm one of you."

"What...",I said.

"A shifter. I came here from Japan,to search for you, after I was given word there was another shifter in America. You know there's allot of people after your head, right",he said, while looking intensely at me. A shifter I basically another word for a were-cat,from ancient Asian folklore.

"I know",I said.

"Well, first I'm Ren, I'm was hoping you wouldn't mind if we can talk some where private",he asked.

Can I trust him? Should I trust him? I already answered, before I could decided.

"Ok",I said.

We walked out of the hospital out to the parking lot. I wasn't sure about this when I was about to get into his 2014 black camaro. But I climbed into the car any way. He'd end up seriously hurt if tried anything, that I'm sure of. We were in Vernonia,Oregon so it was mostly woods. And the weather was mostly rainy half the time.

"Where are we going",I asked,curiously.

"You'll see",he said with a grin on his face.

"That doesn't answer my question",I said, with my own grin.

"You'll love it I know that, you've probably been there before",he said before looking at me,then back at the road.

Twenty minutes later we were in a clearing, right next to the woods.

"Why are we here",I asked, not really caring.

"I haven't shifted in a while, you probably haven't either",he said while he started walking towards the trees.

I shrugged and did the same.

"I'll meet you in a few minutes",he said, before walking away.

I continued walking for about a minute, then undressing, and shifting into my white tiger. My father always told me how, rare it is to see white tiger shifter in a lifetime. And how I was the fist one he'd ever seen in person.

I started walking again and I haven't seen Ren yet.

Until I was surprise attacked.

I looked up to see it was nether than less,Ren. I got up and growled at him, that was when I realized he too was a white tiger. I was surprised, shocked even. He must've felt the same way because he look just as shocked as I was. His grey eyes looked phenomenal against his fur. He shifted back into his human form, and one kneeled in front of me.

"Well I'll be damned",he mumbled. He ran his hand through my fur. Which I did not like,so I shook my fur, under his touch. He laughed, and I growled at him again.

"Ok,ok,how about I race you to the lake and back",he said,I nodded.

As soon as he shifted back to a white tiger,I took of towards the lake. Some might call me a cheater, but a race is a race. It wasn't long before he caught up to me ,and pretty soon he was ahead of me.

Ren p.o.v.

I was surprised she was a white tiger. I mean I heard rumors but I didn't believe it. I geuss I stand corrected. And she is quite the runner.

I looked back to see if she was catching up,and she wasn't there.

Then out of nowhere I was knocked to the ground. I got up and shook my fur. Then narrowed my eyes at Heaven, who growled at me ,which I gladly returned.

I think I caught her off guard when I tackled her. I was now on top of her.

She shifted back to her human form, with a flustered look on her face.

I shifted back to human form.

"Did I hurt you",I asked, while looking in her eyes.

"No",she said, while shaking her head."You just caught me off guard". She is totally lying.

"Yeah ok",I said sarcastically. She narrowed her eyes at me.

"Can I ask you a question",I asked her.

"Ok",she replied.

"Can I kiss you",I asked while looking at her lips. She didn't say anything, while she flipped us over so she was on top of me.

"What are you doing",I said.

"Is there a problem with this position",she said, while cocking a brow.

"No,not really",I said.

"Good",she said, before kissing me. She pulled away ten seconds later, and shifted back to a white tiger. Then walked away.

Heaven p.o.v.

I went back to where I left my clothes, shifted back to human form and got dressed. I have no idea what just happened, but it won't happen again. I'm not ready for a relationship,at the moment.

Hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my second book. If you haven't my first book,it's called Rules of being immortal, check it out. I'll hit you up with chapter two soon. And there's some music linked to this chapter, too.
