"And whenever you feel as if you're going to drop, or if you're getting too low, ajust press this button." The head nurse of Jurassic World told Bryce as she held out a circular object. "Either me, or another one of our medical personnel will come get you."
"Thanks but, um..." Bryce gave the nurse a kind smile. "I already have Thor." She said, giving her dog an affectionate pat.
The nurse gave Bryce what seemed like an annoyed look as she pressed the device into the palm of Bryce's hand, but she quickly hid it as she gave Bryce another smile. "Please, Miss Shepard. We don't want anything bad to happen while your staying with us." The nurse said.
Bryce looked down at the small clicker with distaste, but she still shoved it into her bag none the less. "Okay, yeah, thanks." She gave the nurse a fake smile.
"Good!" The nurse clapped her hands and she gave Bryce a small pat on the shoulder. "Now, why don't you go roam the parks."
Bryce nodded her head and hiked her bag higher on to her shoulder. "Sure, bye." She mumbled, taping Thor on the head as she began to walk out.
"Have a great day here at Jurassic World!"
"Wasn't she pleasant." Bryce spoke, giving the medical center a fleeting look as she jogged away from the building. "You hungry?"
Thor let out a bark and his tail wagged excitedly as she continued to speak. "Okay, let's see..." Bryce trailed off, looking at the different cafés and restaurants. "I'll just have a plain sandwich... I think."
Bryce walked towards the closest café, and she let out a sigh of relief as she saw that they did indeed sell sandwiches. The delectable scent of cooked meat and freshly baked bread wafted into Bryce's nose as she walked inside and her stomach let out a loud growl.
"Sorry." Bryce mumbled, patting her stomach as she walked further into the café with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Hello, what can I get you today?" An overly excited cashier said with a large, practiced smile on her face.
"Just a plain turkey sandwich." Bryce said, reaching into her bag for some money.
"Would you like anything on that?" The cashier asked, giving Thor a weary look as he sat down at Bryce's feet. "Any condiments or vegetables?"
"Uh... lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, pickles and ranch." Bryce said, letting out a cheer of triumph as she finally pulled a wad of cash out of her bag.
"What an... interesting choice." The cashier let out an awkward laugh as she typed in the order. "And for your drink?"
"Two water bottles, please." Bryce said as she looked at the cash register for her total amount. "Oh, and can I get a plastic bowl?"
"Sure." The cashier nodded, another look on her face. "Okay, that'll be $10.34." The girl said, looking back up at Brcye with the annoying smile once more.
Bryce choked on her spit before she swallowed, which probably wasn't very attractive, as she saw and heard the price of her small meal. But, despite the price, her blood sugar was starting to drop and she was starving, so she still paid for the overly priced meal.
"Here you go." The cashier handed Bryce her food from over the counter. "Enjoy your day here at Jurassic World!"
Bryce gave the barista a nod and she walked away, looking down at her meal with a look of distain. Once she was seated at a small window seat, Bryce reached into her bag and pulled out her meter.
"This sandwich better be worth ten bucks." Bryce said as she pricked her finger, pressing the small blood droplet on to the strip in her meter. The small meter blinked a few times, counting down from 5 before another number showed up.
