Gamorah stopped. The voice was strangely familiar to her, but she couldn't quite place the one who matched it.
"My name is Lilly Knightwalker, and most likely, I'm dead by now."
Gamorah winced, remembering the singing voice of the very person who was speaking on the recording. "Well, whoever's listening, you have to actually pay attention, or else, everyone close to you and you may die." Her eyes widened at this statement, already knowing how it felt to have someone take away the people you care about. She just got a new friend three years ago.
No way in hell she's letting them die.
"Now, listener, you must-oh you know what? I feel ridiculous saying that.I'll call you....... Gamorah! I liked her in the Voltron series. She could deal with the playboy Lance. Also.
I know that most likely a Gamorah will investigate my sister's death. So she will most likely be the one to hear this." Gamorah froze.
How did she know it would be me? I don't even know her at all besides the fact that my catching her made her commit suicide.
"Gamorah Salee, partner to Ethan Wright, the homicidal investigator. Please, run far, far, away. I don't...." Lilly stopped for a moment, and then continued, with her voice trembling, "I don't want you to have the same fate I do." Gamorah heard the brokeness in her voice, the lost dejected tone clear.
This girl. Gamorah thought, She's been through trouble by wanting to help.
"I got involved with an underground organization called Willow. How I got involved, however, that's a different matter." She laughed, making it clear that she didn't want to, because you see, the laughter wasn't joyous, no, it wasn't even sarcastic.
The laughter was the sound of sadness and insanity, the laughter of a person who knows they're going to die, and they loathed that fact. They despised it with every ounce of their being.
"The person I loved,to be married to my sister. I still love him, but I found a person who I loved equally. His name was Cameron. You know the funny thing about love?" She said randomly, her voice strangely high pitched."It makes you do the stupidest things. And you know the sad thing?" She laughed, the tremendous weight of the situation causing her to crack under the pressure.
"You never regret it." Lilly sighed and began to talk.
"It all started when Amelia worked for the government."
